* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: "Hallelujah Money" randomly ends with a sample of WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants sobbing. [[GeniusBonus It's a soundbite of his reaction to Mr. Krabs saying "You're fired!", which was Donald Trump's catchphrase on The Apprentice.]]

** "Hallelujah Money," the first song announced after a lengthy hiatus split the fandom wide open, primarily regarding its politics [[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgement (which we won't go into much detail other than saying they're controversial)]], but also regarding whether or not the music itself is actually good. It's either a clumsy and disappointing first step after a 6-year absence, or a refreshing and bold statement that's well worth the wait. [[FanHater The comments complaining]] [[NoTrueScotsman about each others']] [[FlameWar responses certainly]] [[ComplainingAboutPeopleNotLikingTheShow don't help.]]
** With the tease releases from ''Humanz'', including ''Saturnz Barz'' and ''Let Me Out'', many people are becoming fed up with the guest singers taking up more of the spotlight, and would like at least a few non-collab songs on the album.
** There's also disagreements over the structure of ''Humanz'', particularly over how much looser and more 'mixtape' like it is compared to previous albums. Some people adore it, some are more neutral and still enjoy the album anyway, and some find it a weakness of the album, regardless of what they think of it overall. This, combined with the above complaints about the perceived lack of non-collab songs, as well as arguments over how much of it is considered a Gorillaz album (despite every album being vastly different anyway) due to not having as much 'story' on the album itself/as much of Damon's involvement vocally will all lead to vastly different responses.

** Cyborg Noodle, due to being a second version of Noodle, who is already a tremendously popular character, tends to get featured in a lot of fan-created content.

Added DiffLines:

* FanficFuel: Due to Phase 3's storyline never getting to cover what happened to the band after Noodle and Russel arrived at Plastic Beach, plenty of fanfic writers have taken it upon themselves to do it themselves.

** To a much less severe extent, most fanfics severely downplay 2D's less savory characteristics (such as his fathering of a dozen illegitimate children) and make him a full on NiceGuy. His intelligence is also generally boosted by a few IQ points.

** At the beginning of the video "Strobelite," a random [[TakeThat stereotypical Trap musician]] gets punched in the face; while [[CrowningMomentOfFunny funny]], it really has nothing to do with the rest of the video. Evidently, [[WhatCouldHaveBeen Russel was supposed to be the puncher]], but the subplot was cut from the final product.

** "Empire Ants". Everything from the intro, with 2D's beautiful, gentle vocals, to Little Dragon's verses when the song starts picking up.

* FriendToAllChildren: The music video for ''Dirty Harry'' implies 2D has the instincts, at least. His smiles and demeanor implies that the only reason he's playing at all is to keep the children distracted from their dire situation (stranded in a desert) the only way he knows how; through genre busting music and ethereal vocals. That said, 2D's absentmindedness works against him in actually taking CARE of the children. He dances right past two boys in the middle of a slap fight, ignores blatant bullying and hair pulling, and is totally absent when a boy peaks up a girl's skirt, after stuffing a Dung Beetle's dung ball in his mouth.
