Misuse. If the comic wasn't allowed to use them (and they didn't even show up in the comic in the first place) it's not an example of They Wasted A Perfectly Good Character.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: ''WesternAnimation/YoungSamsonAndGoliath'' was one of the few Hanna-Barbera action cartoons not to be included on the comic. Some fans were disappointed, as the titular character and his lion sidekick Goliath would be a good addition to the all-star cast. However, the reason for that is because ''Young Samson'' doesn't belong to Creator/HannaBarbera, but to UsefulNotes/GeneralMills.

Requires Word Of God confirmation

* AuthorsSavingThrow: DC's 2005 ''Space Ghost'' limited series gave Space Ghost a very edgy backstory in an attempt to distance the character from the silliness of ''Coast to Coast'', with many readers feeling it went too far in the opposite direction instead. ''Future Quest'' gives him a new origin, which - while still dark by the standards of Hanna-Barbera fare - hews much closer to the tone of the original series. Here, rather than becoming a revenge-driven vigilante after his pregnant wife was murdered by a corrupt officer, he's the last survivor of a band of spacefaring heroes who died fighting Omnikron in its previous incursion.
