* CreepySexy: Alma. Paxton Fettel gets this way by the third game as well, on account of [[AudioErotica his voice.]]

* ItWasHisSled: ''F.3.A.R.'' is built off the twist endings of both games prior: [spoiler: Paxton Fettel being the Point Man's brother and Alma being their mother, and Alma raping Beckett]].

* ItWasHisSled: The ending of ''Project Origin''-[[spoiler:Alma rapes Beckett]].

* YourMindMakesItReal: Or rather, Alma's mind makes every supernatural horror the player encounters real. For example, this troper initially looked at [[spoiler: The Creep]] as an AssPull to make Alma more sympathetic... then considered that this very well may be just as she saw her greatest tormentor, [[spoiler: Harlan Wade]]. Her mind made her fears very much a reality. While the player may want to help or hinder her, it is Alma's own power made physical by her fear trying to kill the Point Man and Fettel.

* ContestedSequel: ''F.E.A.R. 3'' has aroused divided opinions among the ''F.E.A.R.'' fandom, with many decrying the game for placing less emphasis on horror.

** And let's face it, Becket at the end of ''F.E.A.R. 2''. He's been fighting for two days straight, got horrifically operatged on, is having horrible hallucinations and is being attacked by endless numbers of enemies for no discernible reason, is stalked by an insane psychic ghost, [[spoiler: gets raped]] and [[spoiler: becomes the "father" of the apocalypse]]. [[ItGetsWorse It gets worse]] for him in ''FEAR 3'', as he's escaped only to be captured and held by Armacham for nine months, then gets [[spoiler: his mind invaded by Fettel before ''exploding''.]] And worst of all, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking no one let him change his clothes in nine months]]. Poor guy.

** And let's face it, [[spoiler:Becket]] at the end of ''F.E.A.R. 2'' will either get the [[spoiler:"what are you complaining about?" reaction on account of RapeIsOkWhenItIsFemaleOnMale]] or will garner genuine sympathy, if not outright pity, from any player smart to understand that no, it's really ''not'' okay. In point of fact, the game can be viewed as pushing the latter point of view, considering Alma's FanDisservice (see above) is probably more than enough to clue in at least ''some'' people who have the ''first'' opinion.

* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: The Creep. This being F.E.A.R., even if it is [[spoiler: Alma's twisted memories of her father]], Alma was expected to be the antagonist, at least for this troper, not this thing that [[OhCrap scares even]] [[EvilerThanThou her]]. While F.E.A.R. 2 shows she has issues, this guy came out of nowhere, when one puts the entire trilogy together.

** Harlan Wade, too. Not only did he use his own eight-year-old ailing daughter for a miltary-funded genetics program, [[ParentalIncest he used his own DNA, among others, to create the two prototypes- her children]]. He doesn't allow a single moment of bonding between her and any of the two. Guilt eventually corrodes him, though. It doesn't help the situation any better.

* GameBreaker: SloMo makes even the HarderThanHard difficulty setting relatively easy. You get an achievement for beating the first game without using it. ''Project Origin'' can also mostly be completed without SloMo, although you do really need it for the final boss since he has it too. ''FEAR 3'', however, dodges this; you ''need'' slo-mo if you want to survive, because the badguys are ''that'' deadly.
