** The newly announced Phoenix Mode (where characters who die can be resurrected on that very map) and the removal of weapon durability limits has made some fans of the older games ''quite'' angry (the rest have taken the series' long history as a good sign the devs aren't totally incompetent and that there's probably a justification for it not yet announced). Never mind that the latter was available in ''Gaiden'' and more or less existed in Seisen No Keifu, possibly the most beloved Fire Emblem game ever made. As well as the former being optional.

* TheScrappy: Charlotte is already starting to become this, with many fans disliking her for her blatant {{Fanservice}}, her BitchInSheepsClothing GoldDigger personality or both.

* IKnewIt: After Nishiki's reveal, people began guessing that Nohr would have a faction-specific shapeshifter that was a wolf. In the "introduction" trailer, there's a glimpse of a man turning into a bear-wolf-thing, causing this reaction.

** Aqua, the blue-haired dancer girl and secondary protagonist. Within ''two hours'' of the trailer's release, the fanart was already flowing.

* FanPreferredCouple: Going by polls and fanart, fans are shipping Male!Avatar with [[BirdsOfAFeather Aqua]], [[AmazonianBeauty Rinkah]], and [[ActionGirl Kazahana]]; Female!Avatar tends to be paired with [[BattleButler Joker]], [[ChildhoodFriend Cyrus]], and sometimes [[LesYay Aqua]] as well.

** If pre-release footage is anything to go by, Silas is ''extremely'' devoted to the Avatar, to the point of having snuck a young Avatar out of the castle to take him on a ''picnic date'', despite knowing that such an act could get him executed, and it almost does. He then became a knight for the sole purpose of being reunited with him, and is willing to betray his home country for the Avatar should he choose to side with Hoshido.

* NeverLiveItDown: The fandom has exaggerated the ''actual'' quantity of skimpy-dressed female characters. While there ''is'' quite a bit more {{Fanservice}} than in other FE titles, out of the rather large female cast... only three Nohrian women (Charlotte, Camilla and to a lesser degree Nyx) and two Hoshidan girls (Rinka and Orochi) are super fanservicey, while all the other women on either country are dressed in far more sensible and/or practical ways, and additionally two of the MissFanservice characters have ''somewhat'' in-character reasons to dress the way they do [[note]](Charlotte is a GenreSavvy GoldDigger who [[BitchInSheepsClothing uses her cute looks to draw men in so they will spoil her]], while Orochi is in charge of the "Capture" mechanic in Hoshido and probably uses her looks as well to make things easier ''and'' is implied to be kind of a tease anyway)[[/note]].

** The various changes to gameplay mechanics, mainly the revamped weapon triangle and removal of weapon durability, which has been a series staple since day one. There are people who don't mind and people who are fine with that since they also go barefoot everywhere. Then there are people who are wildly confused by their rather odd choice of footwear for a royalty. Then there are people who are ''really'' angry or just phobic about this fact.

*** Another foot-related joke is the idea of choosing sides based on what kind of footwear each side has. The player character and Aqua [[TakeAThirdOption decide to not choose either side]] and go barefoot.

** Rinka has become quite popular for her rather [[AmazonianBeauty stunning figure]].

* AbandonShipping: People wanted to S-rank some characters like Hinoka abandoned the idea after learning said shipping would be BrotherSisterIncest.

** The fact that there are [[http://serenesforest.net/2015/04/01/fire-emblem-april-2015-information/ two separate versions of the game, each with its own story]] has understandably caused some debate. Intelligent Systems state that each version will be different in story/style enough and big enough to justify the split, but some people have a hard time believing that, and think that this is Nintendo doing all they can to nickle and dime consumers and intentionally withholding content that should all be together. Others argue that that Nintendo has a pretty good record with worthy DLC, so they deserve at the very least the benefit of the doubt. Especially considering there's a very similar precedent in the Nintendo francises with the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOracleGames Oracle games from the Zelda franchise]], and to a lesser extent, [[VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite the Generation 5]] [[VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2 games of Pokémon]]. Interestingly, while the game was a part of every direct, only Japan was told about the split in versions, which may mean Westerners may just get everything in one cartridge anyway.

* AbandonShipping: There are some girls that players of the male Kamui had their hearts set on. That said, some of those same players abandoned their ship if they chose one of the girls that was revealed to be related to Kamui.

* CulturalPosturing: Toyed with. Of the two factions in the Japanese-made game, the Japanese-inspired Hoshido are peace-loving and only trying to defend themselves from the invasion of the warlike, ambitious, and obviously European-inspired Nohr. Likewise, some of the Nohr character designs (specially some of the female ones) seem intended to invoke the SensibleHeroesSkimpyVillains trope. This has caused some to accuse the game of a revisionist narrative regarding Japan's own warlike past or insinuating that the Japanese are superior to Western society. On the other hand, ignoring the very ObviouslyEvil Garon, the Nohr characters that have been revealed don't seem particularly malevolent: Kamui's Nohr little sister Elise seems very sweet, Marx at one point in the first trailer seems truly horrified at something Garon's done, and MsFanservice Camilla in one shot in the second trailer shows very genuine concern for Kamui's wellbeing, and is as sad as Elise and Marx when the two armies are face to face. Furthermore, their story will apparently revolve around reforming the nation from within rather than providing a straightforward "evil campaign."

** The day the video regarding the two factions came out, Camilla quickly became [[http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/941433-fire-emblem a common argument for joining Nohr]]. Interestingly, this began to wane a bit after we got to hear more about the siblings of each side as the rest of the Nohrian family grew in popularity. She's still very popular though, thanks in part to being portrayed as a CoolBigSis to Kamui.

** A lot of fans love Marx for being a [[CoolBigSis Cool Big Bro]] with a sense of honor who genuinely loves Kamui, as seen by the genuine sadness he shows if Kamui turns on Nohr.

* FanPreferredCouple: Going by polls and fanart, fans are shipping Male!Kamui with [[BirdsOfAFeather Aqua]], [[CoolBigSis Camilla]], [[ActionGirl Kazahana]], and [[LittleSisterHeroine Elise]]; Female!Kamui tends to be paired with [[NotBloodSiblings Marx]], [[BattleButler Joker]], [[ChildhoodFriend Cyrus]], and sometimes [[LesYay Aqua]] as well.

* HoYay: A new feature in the game lets Kamui call up members of your army into your room so that you can... rub and pat them to raise affinity, a la Pokemon gen 6, or the Project Diva games (but with more blushing). You can do this as either gender, to either gender. And seeing how rubbing someone of the same gender is pretty much [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar the most homosexual thing one could do without getting outright sexual]], many are seeing this as a sign that same-sex pairings are being introduced, at least for [[AnythingThatMoves Kamui.]]

* MemeticMolester: The May 31st Direct unveiled a new feature where Kamui can call people to his/her room and ''rub their face'', immediately landing them this label among the fanbase.

** Kamui's dragon form has generated quite a fair amount of memes. For example, some people think it looks like a cross between [[VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl Dialga]] and [[VideoGame/PokemonXAndY Xerneas]]. Cue the Pokémon cracks.
*** Going off the above, there are people saying that not only is Kamui a Pokémon, [[http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=54466 Aqua is their trainer but doesn't have enough badges to control them]], and that's why they attack her.
