* AccidentalAesop: While not lampshaded, this episode actually teaches people to never reveal such controversial/sensitive information to people who you haven't had long term friendships with. Lois and Joyce were friends for barely a month, and the former revealed to Joyce that she did a porno. [[TemptingFate You can guess what happens next]].
* FamilyUnfriendlyAesop: While it's obvious that grudge holding isn't healthy and that DisproportionateRetribution is wrong, this episode just teaches people that bullying and hazing people to the point that they are humiliated in front of the student body should be easily forgiven and swept under the rug (it doesn't help that Lois and the other cheerleaders were never seen getting punished by the administrators).

next.]]
* DracoInLeatherPants: Okay, Lois has been a shitty person as of late, and did pull a cruel prank on Joyce in high school, but Joyce herself immediately descended to her level when she eclipsed it by using her new spot as Quahog news anchor as a bully pulpit, humiliating Lois in front of ''the entire town'' by revealing the porno Lois took part in, and didn't even confront her directly beforehand about it or give a chance to apologize, and didn't even listen to Lois' apology. Fans still rooted for Joyce because Lois was finally getting blowback for past actions, even though she should have suffered more for those other actions, and Joyce [[HeWhoFightsMonsters was being as bad as Lois]]. Joyce could have still just confronted her directly and be justified in not immediately forgiving her, and even retaliating afterwards, but only if Lois refused to apologize in the latter case.
Still, Joyce loses points for going behind Lois' back to pull the prank instead of talking it out with her.

* JerkassWoobie: Joyce. Grranted, she suffered for what she went through, but she came back in one of the most unhealthy ways possible.

* TheWoobie: Joyce could qualify, depending on whether or not one thinks she went too far with her retaliation.

* UnintentionallySympathetic: Joyce, because she was portrayed as a villain. While it was wrong and unhealthy for Joyce to hold a grudge against Lois, many people rooted for her to get back at Lois due to Lois' behavior in post-cancellation seasons.

** Joyce may come off as this to a few viewers. While Lois did deserve blow-back for her past behavior in later seasons of the show, a few fans believed she went too far with her prank. [[RejectedApology While it was understandable for Joyce to not welcome Lois back in her life with open arms]], [[NoSympathyForGrudgeholders it's mentally unhealthy to hold grudges for years]].

Since Lois is a jerkass herself, it's more of Evil Vs Evil. Fuck Lois.

* HilarityEnsues: In the real world, Joyce would have been fired immediately after airing her expose on Lois … not only because the story had no news value but that the story was meant only to embarrass and humiliate someone with whom she held a grudge against (for making her the victim of a joke that should have been addressed). WQHG would have been exposed to a huge libel lawsuit to boot.

Whether or not she's portrayed in the wrong doesn't change the fact that she has a reason for her action, and people can still feel pitty for her for that. It's called YMMV for a reason.

It was the more damaging in the end. Designated Villain deleted not to defend Lois, but rather because the trope here was letting Kinney off the hook too easily. Anti Villain covers her pretty well already.

* DesignatedVillain: Joyce Kinney for outing Lois as a former porn star. It should be noted that it was done because of a cruel prank done to her in high school. It's played up as a big MoralEventHorizon and you're supposed to feel sorry for Lois.
* MisaimedFandom: While some fans felt Lois got what she deserved, some fans feel that, Kinney's stunt [[DisproportionateRetribution was the more damaging]], as it resulted in Lois getting shamed by the entire town, and she did it years after the fact without confronting Lois about it first. Regardless of how you feel about Lois, this is not how you confront a former bully, who may instead wish to apologize, which Lois actually did. Had Lois not been sorry, then Joyce would have been a lot more justified.
