* FanPreferredCouple: A few people seemed to prefer shipping Marina with Goofy rather than with her 'intended' love interest, John Silver. Heck, a few other male characters who have some form of interaction with Marina qualify.

The story expects the readers to hate him because he's a jerk to Marina, but he had every right to call her out, considering that the latter is spoiled and prideful. He also gets sympathy from readers for being the only sane and reasonable character, especially when he had good reasons for being suspicious of John Silver, considering that the captain had coincidentally showed up the same time the Nightmares did.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: ''Mickey Mouse himself'' is this. He's supposedly a responsible king, yet he releases John Silver for not being the one to command the Nightmares to attack Merlin's cottage despite the possibility that the captain could've still done the deed. Readers also give Mickey more vitriol for allowing Marina to accompany the other main characters in exploring the different worlds even though she has no reason to go apart from wanting to be an explorer.

* CanonDefilement: Aside from [[WesternAnimation/SleepingBeauty Maleficent]], nearly every Disney character, even with some of their canon personality traits, acts as if everything centers around Marina, does almost nothing while spouting banter during battle scenes, or suffering from Main/{{Chickification}}.
