* SelfImposedChallenge: All of the {{Macrogame}} elements are technically optional -- skill teachers and item pre-identification can only be used on your initial spawn, while pets, the Wargear Vault, and the starshard orb can just be ignored, and the stat trainer has an option to delete all unspent points at any time, so you can always start your next character with a clean slate. You can even re-generate the map if you want to be thorough about it.

* DemonicSpiders: The Bee Magistrate is one of the few enemies feared as much by high-level mans as newbies -- its special skill is to apply "punishment shields" to nearby enemies en masse, which if struck instantly retaliate for [[PercentDamageAttack a fixed and irreducible 15% of your max HP]]. Careless AreaOfEffect attacks around a Bee Magistrate can result in you killing yourself instantly.

** The Warlord Conqueror is a mid-game boss found in the Tower dungeons who can particularly catch players off guard. as he has nearly 10,000HP (When typically at this point a the player would be used to 3,000-5,000 range), has high defense, hits like a truck, can jump across the map, and has incredibly damaging telegraphed attacks that can kill the player in one-hit. If, at this point, the player doesn't have any sophisticated movement options from their skills, facing him is a death-sentence.

* ItsEasySoItSucks: Some don't like the meta-progression systems. Feeling that it makes the game too easy and winnable by grinding stat points at the academy.

The creator has repeatedly pointed out that they are optional, and even added an option to delete stat points from the trainer so that a character can start from a truly clean slate no matter how built-up the Academy is.

** Can sometimes happen where a Dungeonmans will tear their way through a dungeon or tower, only be to be met with a an unexpectedly tough Boss fight at the end.
