Becoming a self-aware avatar of King Drasil, Barbamon started a tyrannical regime to purge Digimon deemed "illegal" and gather the Eight Digi-Memories to create [[PhysicalGod NEO]], a godlike digital to surpass King Drasil and [[InTheirOwnImage recreate the Digital World]]. Gathering powerful warriors to lead The Commandments, Barbamon would manipulate both Shou and Holy Angemon, [[TheCorrupter corrupting them]] into Knight and Murmukusmon. Then, the Commandments would [[RapePillageAndBurn carry a murderous crusade]] across the digital world while Barbamon warps the reincarnation cycle of the Digimon. When the resistance against his rule concentrates in Light City, Barbamon orders the destruction of the city before sending the sadistic Chaosdramon--whom Barbamon created using data of the Dark Area--to kill Andromon and the remaining survivors before mocking Norn, the compassionate human avatar of King Drasil, when she is horrified by the brutality. When Barbamon is lethally injured by Victory Greymon, he sacrifices himself to complete the creation of NEO, who would erase both the Digital and Human Worlds following the last desire of his creator.
