* VindicatedByHistory: Descendents were well known in their scene, but didn't catch on as big as their contemporaries did, and their albums weren't big sellers (Drummer Bill Stevenson even said that the first {{Music/All}} album sold better than any Descendents one at that point). Over the years though, the band's legacy began to grow, especially as being a big influence on the PopPunk boom of the 90's, and most of their later reunion releases have been more successful as a result.

* FirstInstallmentWins: ''Milo Goes to College'' is their most popular album.
* ValuesDissonance: Songs such as "Hope" and "I'm The One" have aged pretty badly in the post-third wave feminism world, having lyrics that sound like rants of an incel or DoggedNiceGuy. However, the former song was meant originally as an AntiLoveSong simply because few bands explored negative emotions related to love.
