* FanPreferredCouple: Kendall/Logan, and James/Carlos to a slightly lesser extent. James/Logan also has a dedicated fanbase. In general, all of the ships (canon and non-canon) have large fanbases, but the title of most popular (as in, '''the'' fan preferred couple) seems to fall between Kendall/Logan or Kendall/James.

* FandomRivalry: When most people's first impression of BTR is a Nickelodeon-manufactured boyband, this is inevitable.

* RonTheDeathEater: Jo to much of the fanbase; whether you consider her a lovable character or not, canon has never placed her in a villainous role, but a wide variety of fanfiction portrays her as manipulative, cheating, verbally abusive, and even homophobic in [[SlashFic the right context.]]

* CrazyAwesome: Camille. Her crazy nature often helps the guys with their problems.

* LGBTFanbase: Yes this show had a number of gay male fans.

* OneTrueThreesome: The most popular pairing is all four of the main boys, James/Logan/Kendall/Carlos, but it's not hard to find any kind of threesome combo out there, sometimes even with one of the girls thrown in. James/Logan/Camille is an especially trio with fans, especially considering how Logan orchestrated [[SexyShirtSwitch James and Camille's dress/tux trade]] in the prom episode.

* HarsherInHindsight: James spends most of "Big Time Dance" helping Logan try andask Camille to the dance. Then came "Big Time Girlfriends", where James and Camille kiss despite her now being in a relationship with Logan. [[WhatTheHellHero What the hell, James]]? (Though in some fairness, the kiss in was blatantly played as a consequence of the two getting too far into character and literally forgetting for a moment that they weren't a Hair-Model Spy and a Robot Princess who had fallen in love. "There was a ''bomb''", indeed.)

*** Carlos's loss for "Favorite Television Actor", on the other hand, was much more of an upset, considering the fact that the winner, Ross Lynch from ''Series/AustinAndAlly'', isn't that big of an idol.

* UnfortunateImplications: In "Big Time Love Song," the four boys eagerly compete for the attention of the new girl, Jo, but it all comes to a grinding halt when she tells them that she has a boyfriend back home. Logan, Carlos, and James are all disappointed but seem to accept this and move on. Kendall, on the other hand, refuses to give up and persistently flirts with Jo in "Big Time Break," despite her repeatedly reminding him that she has a boyfriend. Eventually, it is revealed that Jo was lying about having a boyfriend because she didn't want to deal with the boys fighting over her, and she wanted to focus on her career instead of a relationship. At the end of the episode, Jo, who has clearly come to return Kendall's feelings for her, agrees to go out with him. In truth, even if Jo was lying about having a boyfriend, she had already made it clear that she wasn't responding to any of the boys' interest in her, and she did so multiple times with Kendall. When it comes right down to it, Kendall was able to get Jo to go out with him because he was the only one of the four boys who didn't stop pursuing her after she turned them down. In other words, Kendall won Jo's heart because he was the only one ''who wouldn't take no for an answer.''

* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Mercedes. She's a RichBitch who makes the boys her boyfriends and do what she says because she "loves manipulating people" and is a ClingyJealousGirl at times... but she's so hilarious that everyone wants her to make another appearance. It helps that she brings back nostalgia for a [[Series/NedsDeclassifiedSchoolSurvivalGuide certain other character]] actress Carlie Casey is best known for.

** Her father, Griffin quickly became one as well. Must run in the family.
** Katie, largely due to her being [[OnlySaneMan the most sensible person]] in the show [[WiseBeyondTheirYears despite her young age]].
** Lucy . Being played by Malese Jow helped.
** Gustavo has a ''small'' but dedicated fanbase due to his LargeHam behavior and his very genuine moments of loving the boys despite them being a pain in his ass. That and his HairTriggerTemper moments are known as the best parts of the show's comedy.

* GirlShowGhetto: {{Averted|Trope}}. The show has almost as many male fans as it does female fans.

* AwardSnub: At the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards. They lost "Best Show" to ''Series/{{iCarly}}'' and "Fave Music Band" to Music/TheBlackEyedPeas.
