* IAmNotShazam: Despite the title, there is no such thing as ''Atragon'' in the original version of the film and in the newer English dub. The titular undersea warship is called the Gotengo but was [[DubNameChange changed]] to Atragon for the Titra English dub. And international releases are called ''Atoragon'' as a reference to Manda being an "Atlantis dragon", despite said versions still calling Manda by his original name in the film, and Manda not even coming from THE Atlantis.

Even with this, some newcomers still mistakenly call either the Gotengo or Manda "Atragon".

EDH only applies to characters, it doesn't apply to vehicles, and is it really "minor" if the movie is named for it?

* EnsembleDarkHorse: The Atragon itself (or Gotengo) is among one of, if not ''the'' most recognized vehicle in Toho’s entire catalogue, often praised for its unique design and fierce armory. It was rather telling when Toho brought it back and revamped it in ''Film/GodzillaFinalWars''

** [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-DLcoxcYwYM The Volunteer Corps Swing Into Action!]]. An epic militaristic march with a majestic sound to it.
** [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ3WWBs6uvw The opening theme]]. Bombastic and proud.

* SpecialEffectsFailure: The miniature effects in this film aren't quite up to the usual Toho standards, especially the ones that involve water. It's often very obvious that the Atragon is just a small model on strings and that Manda is just a puppet.

* BadassDecay: Mu Agent 23. Once a considerable threat, now a henchman doing nothing against the Atragon.
