* DisappointingLastLevel: While the gameplay is incredibly unique and new, it falls apart during your final task to [[spoiler:free your five friends and escape the hotel. It consists of running to five rooms, avoiding Jimmy who now triggers a full-on GameOver if he captures you, and watching the exact same "freed your friend" cinematic and hearing the exact same dialogue five times in a row. It feels like the exact same kind of thing you've been doing for several hours now, minus all the mystery and intrigue of talking to ghosts. Your reward for completing it is a very brief clip of Maya leaving the hotel alongside AWinnerIsYou type congratulation message, a brief scene of Jimmy hamming it up, and a couple of brief establishing shots of the hotel.]]

* WhatAnIdiot:
** Dr. Bose knew something was seriously wrong with Jimmy after [[spoiler: Jimmy made him a sandwich full of broken glass. Even though he received severe injury from it and kept the glass and bloody cloth to show to police, he apparently didn't report this, press charges, or use it to push for more intensive care. Instead, he chose to step up treatment by attempting to inject Jimmy with medication against his will, going so far as to chase him around the hotel to do so. Regardless of his intentions, this is not appropriate behavior for an adult, and especially not a doctor, and only gave Jimmy more cause to target him and more credence to his claims against the doctor that ultimately ruined his life.]]
*** He knew Jimmy was capable of cruel and potentially fatal acts by this point, and he also knew that Jimmy would lie and implicate others to protect himself. But even after [[spoiler:the first incident in which Jimmy lied about him to his mother]], Dr. Bose did nothing to protect himself from the potential for further false allegations, and apparently tried to continue treating Jimmy--a patient who he knew lacked empathy, was prone to acts of malice, and now had absolutely no reason to trust him or want to improve his condition.
** Harvey knew Jimmy was manipulative and responsible for multiple horrible things that had happened to people, but rather than use any of the evidence he had gathered and go to the police to bring Jimmy's actions to light or force his mother to get him treatment, he took it upon himself to punish Jimmy for the things he did. This approach only made Rose more resistant to listening to him and made him more of a target for Jimmy's "pranks". This ongoing feud and cycle of retaliation between the two ultimately escalated to the point of Harvey [[spoiler:literally trying to confront Jimmy with a gun only for Jimmy to kill him]]. While he was right that Jimmy had done horrible things and was a danger to those around him, his aggression in response served as a cover for Jimmy as no one else knew of his history. Thus [[spoiler:Harvey's murder was considered self-defense and Jimmy came out looking like the victim]].
** Arguably his mother. As much as Rose may love her son and be blinded by this love, there were many signs of problems with Jimmy that she should have taken seriously and couldn't reasonably ignore without putting her in this category. She had to have had at least some awareness given that she agreed to have Jimmy see Dr. Bose in the first place, but despite this, she continued to willfully ignore Jimmy's behaviors and blindly believe him until multiple people had already died because of him. And at the end when she could no longer ignore what he had done, rather than report him to police or try to get him more intensive psychiatric treatment, [[spoiler:she revealed truths to Jimmy that neither of them were in any position to deal with. Then she killed herself and left Jimmy in charge of the hotel where he would be free to hurt countless other people unopposed.]]
