* HarsherInHindsight: When Blitz asks Dragonfly if he could repair his mind, he responds that it is too broken for him to fix, and that "I don't think you would thank me for it, even if I could". Much later, we find out just ''why''.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: On at least one occasion the author has stated that Raven was originally going to be an occasional mook who would pop up now and again to throw a wrench into the situation for our intrepid heroes, but that the author then pictured him and Credenza conversing and his present personality and role evolved from that.
** Digging through Devera's Deviantart reveals a veritable treasure trove of abandoned concepts for the comic including but not limited to; a different Seranith protagonist who was replaced by Tin Can in the final comic, a Jabberwocky character named Grey, and an alternate backstory for Credenza.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Looking back on the first few chapters can invoke this. The stronger gear/broken metal aesthetic (the screws and gears sticking out of rocks), bigger emphasis on action and fights (and an almost MOTW setup to go along with it; Syn, the Shadowmandyrs, the Listing of Names, and the Great Raven) are eventually phased out by chapter 6. Alternatively...
* DarkerAndEdgier : Later chapters rarely take place during the day, action persists but is mostly dominated by drama, and there is much more actual bloodshed to be had.

* MarySue: Hardly a real example but traces are definitely there in the early comic. By chapter 5, Credenza has no less than 3 out of the 4 male characters she's travelling with having said they like her in one way or another. She is told by Ms. Tabitha that she's a good leader because 'people naturally love her.' She goes through enough punishment in the earlier chapters to keep her from seeming overpowered at least, and by the latter half most of the men have been paired off and any other Sue-ish traits Credenza carried have gradually faded away.

* RewatchBonus: There are a number of foreshadowing events/telling dialogue that make significantly more sense or give much more impact on the second read. Notable examples include:
** Blitz/Raven's [[http://archipelagocomic.com/comic/?id=4 first words to Credenza]] sound crazy and disoriented, which is perfectly understandable for his circumstances, but it becomes clear that the person speaking was in fact ''Raven'' and not Blitz; who, after his possession attempt went horribly wrong, is in even more shock than Blitz, and is trying frantically to escape his broken host who inadvertently trapped Raven in him.
--> "Where, I, I can't, it hurts! Make it stop, get me out! Something's gone wrong! …It's not supposed to be like this… I think I'm scared… I can't… I can't feel my wings…"
** Doubles as HeartwarmingInHindsight, as it shows that Raven's human emotions developed very early on in the story, although in the first page it's more like an emotion overload.
** Almost every moment with Charlie [[spoiler: before he is revealed to be Uru]]. A notable insight: whenever he sees her, he does his best to call Credenza by name, even [[http://archipelagocomic.com/comic/?id=689 the first time they meet]].
** Blitz's [[http://archipelagocomic.com/comic/?id=568 reaction to Kroft]], [[http://archipelagocomic.com/comic/?id=569 the dragon in Quillotia]], makes significantly more sense [[spoiler: once it is revealed that Blitz himself is a dragon]].
