* IdiotBall: King Hyacint lectures Arabela about the human world and why he doesn't want to have anything to do with it, and pretty much all characters from the Fairy Tale Kingdom know that humans are not aware of their existence. Therefore, it is quite puzzling that when the King and his court magician travel to the human world, he expects people there to treat him like royalty, inexplicably forgetting that he is the king of a country which does not exist in the human world. His strange behavior eventually lands him and his magician into a mental hospital.
** The King gets another moment when he fails to notice that something is awfully wrong with his wife: she suddenly has a large mole on her face, has forgotten her table manners and even the way in which she speaks has changed considerably. While he chastises her about her behavior, it never dawns upon him that there might be foul play at hand. In a world where magic is commonplace, this is particularly egregious.
** He has yet another moment in the sequel, when he chooses to revive and release Rumburak, reasoning that the world needs both good and evil. And this was ''after'' Rumburak nearly blew up his castle and stated his intention to kill everybody, including the King's own family.

* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: ''Smashing'' hit in Poland on first airing, to the point of being pretty much a generation-defining thing. In the same time the series had regular re-runs all the way till ''early 10s''.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: When one of Arabela's stupid admirers calls her [[{{Film/Barbarella}} "Barbarella"]]. She snickers. (Remember, ALL stories belong to the kingdom, even the more adult ones.)

Not YMMV. Moving.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Arguably, Rumburak's initial punishment. Nothing implies that he actually wanted the wolf from the story to get killed, as he might have simply confused him with a regular one. For this, he was stripped of his apprenticeship, turned from a human into an animal (all the while [[FridgeHorror keeping his intellect]]) and forced to fill in a part for an undetermined period of time. Possibly ''forever''.
