Furthermore, it could mean that Ichi and Ni underwent the same thing to make them malicious and psychotic respectively, in which case their StartOfDarkness is even more not-their-fault than it already superficially appears to be]].
** The fic does this for Serizawa’s HeroicSacrifice in the movie and [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] it. It’s suggested in [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13357907/11 Chapter 11]] that he was motivated not just by the necessity of reviving Godzilla but also partly by the hope he’d be with Vivienne in death -- but she was actually being slowly brought back to life the entire time, so his sacrifice instead cut off their chances of seeing each-other again.
* HilariousInHindsight: Morbidly, somewhat. The way the fic makes Serizawa’s sacrifice HarsherInHindsight is very Shakespearian (see above).
* MoralEventHorizon: Jonah crosses it when he uses Viv and San as guinea pigs for testing ammunition due to their HealingFactor. InUniverse, Vivienne certainly feels he’s absolutely crossed the line when it's revealed in Chapter 6 that [[spoiler:he's been using the mercenaries' refugee labor as unwilling test-subjects for experiments with Ghidorah's DNA]].
* {{Squick}}: Monster X’s BodyHorror in its first form – Viv and San’s HeroicRROD was probably the squickest example. Then there’s also the reveal of [[spoiler:what the {{Artificial Zombie}}s look like]].
* TheWoobie: San can be seen as an interesting, formerly semi-villainous example; who individually doesn’t quite cross into [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds Destroyer of Worlds]] territory because he isn’t as personally motivated as his brothers are to be an OmnicidalManiac, nor does he have the [[{{Jerkass}} behavior type]] for a JerkassWoobie. [[spoiler:San and his brothers were tortured and forcibly transformed into Ghidorah by an alien civilization who captured them, and whilst Ichi (Eldest Brother) and Ni (Elder Brother) were DrivenToVillainy by their trauma, San grew curious about the alien “little ones” and other small, technological species, which angered his brothers who were [[BigBrotherBully Big Brother Bullies]] toward him ever after their StartOfDarkness]]. For an unknown length of time which could’ve been millions of years, San was starved of affection while attached to his brothers. And immediately after he gets a new sibling in the form of Vivienne who is better than his brothers, she for the first several months doesn’t trust him, and they’re in a state of chronic agony due to their CameBackWrong form. And when they finally leave their initial captivity and BodyHorror behind, [[spoiler:Ghidorah comes BackFromTheDead and tries to get under San’s skin as well as Vivienne’s]].
