** The all leather outfits were well received by a lot of fans, however.

** Mina. Though FNC initially didn't focus on her well compared to the others and isn't a main vocal, dancer nor rapper, she's got a lot of attention since debut for being the bassist and her beauty that rivals visuals Seolhyun/Hyejeong. Her popularity skyrocketed in 2014 when people also noticed her witty personality and acting skills which has received more praise than the other actresses. Since then, FNC pushed her more for dramas and was a bit kinder to her with the spotlight but she still wasn't as prominent as other members.

*** Episode 3 has members reading rather touching letters written to each other at the end. In particular is Choa's letter to Mina where she acknowledges that she had a rough time (a likely reference to her father's death) yet was able to endure it and smiled a lot which she thought was amazing. She ends it with, "For the rest of 2015, you're going to be happy and everything will work out! Mina, I love you." Doubles as a major TearJerker, especially after [[https://metro.co.uk/2020/07/03/mina-accuses-former-aoa-bandmate-bullying-says-tried-take-life-12938585/ Mina's revelations of certain other events around the same time]].

Removing Flame Bait

* UnfortunateImplications:
** [[http://seoulbeats.com/2014/06/aoa-go-salon-short-hair-mv/ Some people]] were annoyed that in the "Short Hair" MV some of the girls were rather dumbed down, in particular Chanmi (a mechanic), Mina (a waitress/cafe worker) and Jimin (a police woman). They all have issues with their work and aren't really smart about it (especially Mina who spills ice-cream from the machine... because she's busy fixing her hair), and instead of dealing with them properly they [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere run away instead]]. Compare this to their much more empowering "Get Out" and "Moya" [=MVs=].
** [[http://seoulbeats.com/2014/06/aoa-searches-signature-sound-first-mini-album/ A common criticism]] is that AOA abandoned their unique concept and music for a more stereotypical concept and sound just for the sake of popularity, as well as ''ditching another member'' to do it.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

** With Music/GirlsGeneration's [=SONEs=], starting with AOA's debut but UpToEleven after the dance unit performed rather lackluster covers of "Mr.Mr." and "Genie". Some of their fans unfortunately bring it upon themselves with their "Next SNSD!" or "AOA is so much BETTER than SNSD!" comments, but it doesn't excuse some [=SONEs=] for hating on them just because they're not SNSD and slutshaming them.

Uncanny Valley is IUEO now and the subjective version has been split; cleaning up misuse and ZCE in the process

* UncannyValley: The album and teaser photos of their "angel backstory" for their debut, which were already [[{{Narm}} very cheesy to begin with]], threw off a lot of people because of [[http://seoulyshopping.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/AOA-Angels-Story.jpg how]] [[http://www.hellokpop.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/chanmi.jpg awfully]] [[http://hallyuism.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/wpid-1342533920959.jpg?w=551 edited]] [[http://paradiseofpaparazi.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/book06.png they]] all were - instead of looking angelic, it made the girls look creepy and nowhere as near pretty as they really are.

Wick cleanup, misuse

* TastesLikeDiabetes: "Love Is Only You", especially the choreography which is very, very cutesy. There's a lot of aegyo-like dance movements and aegyo "acting".

* Mina and her bullying allegations caused a '''''huge''''' broken base - not only in the fandom, but in a large portion of both Korean and international netizens. One side 100% believes Mina's stories and consider Jimin and Seolhyun to be the scum of the earth, while the second one points out that FNC and the other members have never actually released the full version of their side of the story[[note]]although the text messages released in 2021 paint a pretty good photo of what actually happened[[/note]], that Mina's stories often change and contradict themselves and she has a bad habit of releasing stories that cast a negative light on the other members whenever they're about to have any sort of solo success.
