* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: [[spoiler:In the lead up to ''Wrestling/WrestleMania 34'' Cena decided he wanted a shot at Wrestling/TheUndertaker, despite the Deadman supposedly having been retired the year before by Wrestling/RomanReigns (possibly because this was something Roman had taunted Cena about during their 2017 feud). For weeks he had called Taker out, often quite insultingly, and received only dead air in response (apart from one week when Wrestling/{{Kane}} came out and chokeslammed him). At the event itself, however, Taker ''did'' suddenly show up (after an initial fake-out by Elias) to give Cena what he'd been after all this time... and ''[[SquashMatch flattened him]]'' in less than three minutes. Of course, this was all part of the WWE's plan in real life, as their ''actual'' goal is to have Cena make preparations for The Undertaker's surprise comeback, and restore the mystique after supposedly getting "retired" by Reigns the year prior, and after Lesnar broke his undefeated streak four years earlier. Cena was [[GenreSavvy well- aware of what will happen in that match]], as he asked the fans if they wanted Undertaker [[{{Foreshadowing}} "to Tombstone him in front of 75,000 fans"]] at the said PPV event and they cheered for it.]]

* OddFriendship: While Cena doesn't have an on-screen feud with Wrestling/SamoaJoe yet, they do had a good time in real life. Some fans must be wondering if Joe's [[ReasonYouSuckSpeech "failure" speech]] to Reigns is almost identical to Cena's.

Hilariously, on the 1000th episode of ''Raw'', when he offered ine of his armbands for [[Wrestling/DwayneJohnson the Rock]] to throw while doing the ''People's Elbow'', it was comically oversized. ''For the Rock'', who is in his own right, a very large and muscular man.
