'''Instead:''' They ACTUALLY FALL FOR IT. They all seriously suspect the masked criminal is Ranma just because he said so, despite his build and physical prowess does not match Ranma's at all. Ranma even calls Akane out on her idiocy of suspecting him based on this. He points out why the hell a masked criminal would blatantly tell a victim his name after committing a crime, which completely defeats the purpose of being masked in the first place. To be fair to Akane, she carefully thought about Ranma's behavior beforehand and came up with a plausible motive and some facts did point towards Ranma by coincidence. She finally asked him for the truth hoping that he's not the criminal.

* Tatewaki Kuno has a huge crush on "the redhaired pigtailed girl" that is Ranma's alternate form. He has never seen them at the same time, and as the manga progresses, Ranma's secret is so out he stops bothering to try to hide it. Kuno has been present when Ranma shifted both ways, including one time when Nabiki dumped hot water on a female Ranma ''while Kuno was holding him''.\\
'''You'd Expect:''' Kuno to get. a. ''clue'' that the girl he has a crush on is the same as one of his primary rivals.\\
'''Instead:''': Kuno accuses Ranma of hiding the pigtailed girl from him and considers him the biggest obstacle to their "love".

Akane knows the guy has extreme ailurophobia to the point he gets terrified at anything remotely resembling a cat, so how the hell could he possibly dress up a his greatest fear in the first place?

* In the second movie's climax, Ranma and Akane are hurtling towards the magical spring at the heart of Togenkyo, which [[GenderBender permanently transforms anything touched by its water into a human man]]. Whilst this will cure Ranma, it will also permanently turn Akane into a boy.\\
'''You'd Expect:''' Ranma would use his incredible strength and accuracy to throw Akane out of the central drop so that she instead lands safely on the stairs spiraling down the walls to the spring, so only he takes the plunge.\\
'''Instead:''' He blows up the spring with a [[KameHameHadoken Moko Takabisha]], preserving Akane's gender at the cost of losing out on a cure, as it will take at least 100 years for the spring to regenerate. This gets him beaten up by an outraged Mousse and Ryoga.

This entire entry seems incorrect. Due to the Band-aid's effect he was forced to be too nice to ALL girls including Akane. She was initially unsure how to respond to Ranma's sudden change of attitude, then came the jealousy when that attitude applied to everyone. If anything, Akane was the idiot to realize too slowly that Ranma isn't normal.

* At one point in the anime, Ranma gets given a magical band-aid that causes him to flirt with any girl he comes across. Ukyo and Shampoo find out about it and decide to use it to their advantage by making the now far more co-operative Ranma sign marriage licences for them. Eventually, Akane realises what's going on, and asks the two of them to [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy maybe consider Ranma's feelings]]. In response, both girls say that they can worry about them later.\\
'''You'd Expect:''' Ranma, having overhead this, to figure out that at best, Ukyo and Shampoo do not have his best interests at heart in this situation, and at worst they're [[ItsAllAboutMe selfish]] [[{{Jerkass}} jerkasses]], and either have nothing to do with them from that point on, [[WhatTheHellHero call them out on their behaviour]], or at the very least never forget it.\\
'''Instead:''' [[StatusQuoIsGod He continues to try and stay on their good side, while saving most of his jerkassery for Akane, the girl who DID look out for him.]]

Removing blatant and dumb character bashing. Ignoring context and genre (That in Ranma 1/2 slapstick just isn't a big deal)

* Akane is generally a nice person, but one of her biggest flaws is that she does not take kindly to people who insult her, and will often [[MegatonPunch react]] [[DisproportionateRetribution very]] [[HyperspaceMallet violently]] when someone does so. Ranma is a typical offender and victim.\\
'''You'd Expect:''' That after the first few instances of this, Ranma would figure out that insulting Akane is a very bad idea, and try to stop doing so. Even if he has [[NoSocialSkills little in the way of social skills]].\\
'''Instead:''' He keeps on doing it throughout the series. Makes you wonder whether he's some kind of masochist, trying to toughen himself up by taking Akane's hits, or just plain stupid.
** '''On Top of That''': It is well established that Ranma hopelessly outclasses Akane, and contrary to {{Fanon}} assumptions, [[WouldHitAGirl doesn't really have any compunction about hitting a girl.]] We even see him dodge her attacks after provoking her from time to time, or during training exercises.\\
'''You'd Expect''': Ranma to [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beat Akane to a bloody pulp]]--or, at the very least, EVADE her strikes--every time she attacks him, ESPECIALLY those times when she does so for something that ISN'T his fault.\\
'''Instead''': He just stands there and takes it like a bitch, even at times when he didn't provoke her. Maybe he IS a masochist, after all.
