** "Cool Intentions" introduces A.C's mother Gretchen, who dotes on him a lot and causes him so much embarrassment in front of their fan store's visitors that he calls her by her name in an attempt to make it look like they're not related.
** "Smother Knows Best" takes place after Patricia has learned about Hailey's crush on Scott, and she tries to help her daughter by driving them to where they need to go since Scott's bike is broken and doing things like bringing them closer together and joining in with their pictures, as well as trying to use modern phrases to look cool in front of Scott, which Hailey finds really embarrassing.

Hailey immediately regrets giving her speech, and when she finally wins Student of the Week after turning in the book, she can't enjoy it because the other students are still mad at her.
