* BabyTalk: Subverted in "Crib Notes" when Kyle is turned back to normal; he begins saying random gibberish which makes him assume the crib notes spell made him talk like a baby rather than give the actual cheat notes for his exam to be readmitted to Milkweed Academy. But when Fanboy and Chum Chum listen carefully to the gibberish, they realize he is actually saying test answers in code, and Kyle realizes this and uses the coded gibberish to get the test answers written down.

** In "Excuse Me", FB and CC, along with Kyle, are forced to make up all the work they got out of with the forged excuse notes, and have to miss spring break in return.

* LoopholeAbuse:
** In "Lord of the Rings", Fanboy will never tell Kyle his secret to the ring trick because "Good magicians never reveal their secrets." However, a small wallet-sized copy of the vow reveals the secrets are only revealed to the magician's assistant; Kyle decides to take Chum Chum's place in disguise as him so he can learn.
** In "Slime Day", the rule of the secret phrase to getting slimed is you can't tell anyone the phrase and they have to discover it themselves. But there isn't a rule saying the phrase cannot be written down, so the Nickelodeon president gives FB and CC a cue card with the phrase on it (the phrase is literally "I don't know.") so they can say it and get slimed.

** In "Crib Notes", Kyle casts a spell that will give him the answers to a test to be readmitted into Milkweed Academy, except it turns him into a baby and he must go to sleep to know the answers. Fanboy and Chum Chum try various methods to make him sleep, and when they finally succeed and Kyle takes the test, his answers are voided because he didn't use a No. 2 wand.
** In "Kids in the Hall", Kyle desperately tries to give Professor Flan his essay to be readmitted to his Milkweed Academy, but hall monitors Fanboy and Chum Chum keep getting in his way. In the process, Kyle's essay gets eaten by a three-headed dog from another dimension, forcing him to hand in a drawing on a sticky note. To Kyle's surprise, Flan likes the drawing so much that he accepts Kyle back to Milkweed... until he gets eaten by the three-headed dog.

** At the beginning of "Dollar Day", Fanboy abuptly stops while walking which causes his brain to fall out. Later in the episode when he and Chum Chum are trying to come up with a way to get a dollar, he shouts "We've got to THINK!". Chum Chum then leaves the screen for a second and comes back with Fanboy's brain and puts it back in his head.

* DarkerAndEdgier: "Fangboy" (where Fanboy and Chum Chum cross paths with a vampire named Dr. Acula), "Book Report of the Dead" (where Fanboy accidentally turns Mr. Mufflin into a zombie), "There Will Be Shrieks" (where a PumpkinPerson named Mr. Trick takes the boys' sense of taste and tries to get rid of all candy on Hallowen) and "Speed Eraser" (where Kyle tricks Fanboy into having a cursed eraser attached to his hand that erases physical objects and people from existence) are all darker in tone than the show usually is; it's justified since the third (and maaaybe the second example) was a Halloween special.

*** The magic eraser Kyle gives Fanboy in "Speed Eraser" has the ability to erase anything from existance; after literally attaching it to Fanboy, he is so upset and shocked he accidentally erases Kyle's ''own body'', and later, his wand.

->''"They dress as superheroes, wearing their underwear on the outside for that Superman look. (They have no out-of-costume alter egos.) Their collective mental landscape is littered with the detritus of sci-fi and fantasy, with the stuff of comics and movies, toys and TV shows. * OffModel: In the Creator/JohnKricfalusi-esque way. If you've ever seen any of the storyboards, you probably know that they look completely different than the actual show. As evidenced by a storyboard artist, [[http://tvskyle.deviantart.com/art/Off-Model-Chum-Chums-186335422 this]] is what is considered to be too far off the mark.
