The development of the series began as a series of bumpers for ABC's Saturday morning lineup in 1993, possibly, the reason he's called Mr. Bumpy is because he was originally used as a character for bumpers. The series lasted for two seasons, and concluded with a 90 minute long Christmas Special. The format of a usual episode included two cartoons and a "Karaoke Cafe" segment where the characters sung a song about the episodes' lesson.
