Theo Noordegraaf, an average 17-year-old boy from Toronto, has just moved to New York for an internship as a programmer working for the online shopping firm Gridco. He doesn't expect much out of his new job, just some irritating glitches, takeout food, and traffic jams. Of course, nearly getting impaled by some hooded maniac with a crossbow isn't one of these expectations.

After Theo discovers said hooded maniac, a strange purple-haired woman named Katrina, searching for something in Gridco's sub-basement, he's pulled from his banal everyday life into a massive world of technology and abilities beyond his understanding. Apparently, the World Tree Yggdrasil is real, and it connects the universe, allowing millions of species to interact, peacefully or not. There’s just one problem: Yggdrasil isn’t some fantasy wonderland, and an ugly truth lurks just beneath its surface…

[[http://kumacomics.com/archive/ The Noordegraaf Files]] is a {{Genre Busting}} UrbanFantasy webcomic written and drawn by Kingkuma, which updates every Wednesday at 4:00 PM EST.

It's also a bit weird. The best summary would be: If you took the top 20 YA fantasy books, threw them in a gigantic blender, poured on a bit of steampunk, served with a side of science fiction and a glass of manga, you'd get this. It's odd.

Theo Noordegraaf, a 17 year old boy from Toronto, has just moved to New York for an internship as a programmer working for the online shopping firm Gridco. He was expecting traffic jams, weird bugs (real and virtual) and eating lots of instant ramen. Instead, he is drawn (no pun intended) into a world of legends, magic, and food much tastier and stranger than a cup of noodles. There’s one problem: this isn’t some fantasy wonderland, and no one is who they seem…

AUTHOR'S NOTE: When adding a trope to this list, put a "~" key after your entry if this comic is not on that trope's page, so other people can add them at a later date. Of course, to avert this, just add it at the same time.

* FourIsDeath: The number 4 shows up a lot in TNF. The second page has the numbers 4 and 4444 written in binary, along with the GRAVE "`" key in groups of four. Not to mention the panel was about the inescapabiliy of death. Also, pages post every Wednesday (4th day of the week, not using biblical calendar) at 4:00.
