* FiveManBand: The A-Team can be broken down as follows:
** TheLeader: Hyuk. While his morals seem ambiguous, he's undeniably in charge of everyone else and they still listen to him, even if it's with doubts. He is also the one who tends to make the more ambiguous calls so others don't have to.
** TheLancer: Hyun, the groups resident EmpoweredBadassNormal who has a HealingFactor and can kill monsters on his own fairly regularly. He is often the one sent on missions outside of the first floor.
** TheSmartGuy: Dusik Hahn, the old man who can make a weapon out of just about anything. While he is wheelchair bound, his wits and gadgets are enough to keep him in the fight.
** TheHeavy: Wook, a man who can take monsters down with nothing but his bare hands and a lighter. Need we say more?
** TheChick: Jisu, the NiceGirl who is not afraid to get her hands dirty but is undeniably TheHeart of the team.
** TheSixthRanger: Byeong-Li, a woman who is trying to overcome her own flaws, particularly her [[DirtyCoward cowardice]], and has since been much more involved with the rest of the group than she originally was.

** [[spoiler:Dusik and Hyun both cry as Dusik dies - Hyun because he's dying and Dusik because Hyun coming back for him when his family never did is too much for him.]]

* MundaneSolution: [[spoiler:During the HoldTheLine moment on the roof, Ihyun's strategy to get rid of one of the three monsters coming at him is to grab it and throw it off the roof]].

** “Hero” may be stretching it, but by being so persistent about raising the shutter, Seok Kim lets a monster in the building and gets another person killed.
** By electrocuting the Tentacle Monster in an attempt to kill it, Hyun instead [[spoiler:triggers its evolution and it becomes much harder to kill.]]

* NoKillLikeOverkill: [[JustifiedTrope Justified]], since overkill is literally the only thing that works.

** [[spoiler:Joon manages to survive against (and take down) the four or five monsters he's trapped outside with, though he's near death by the time it's all over]].

** Hyuk actually begs Wook to not kill [[spoiler:Dusik]] because they've finally found the happiness they never found in life, but despite his clear sadness, Wook does it anyway. He makes it clear that from his perspective, it's a MercyKill, and both he and Hyuk are incredibly shaken by it.

** Ultimately [[spoiler:Defied with the Epilogue chapter, as Hyun reuniting with the survivors at a military base with his personality intact drives this to a much more happy and hopeful ending, demonstrating that it's possible for the Monsters to become human again or at least live peacefully, and Hyun finding his true desire after everything, a sweet home in Jisu and company, makes for a rather joyous ending if not somewhat ambiguous towards the nature of the Monsters themselves]].

** “Beefcake” is an 8 foot wall of muscle that calls [[Film/TheIncredibleHulk The Abomination]] to mind. It also almost never stops smiling.

** The Blob is nothing but a gelatinous humanoid. Green, gooey, and see through... except for its human eyes.
** The “eye monster” has a head that is nothing but a humongous eye. It also is able to stretch its head at least 14 stories high and can regenerate its head if its lost.
** The Tentacle Monster is carried upside down by a mass of tentacles coming out of its back, which is also uses for movement and attacking. Furthermore, looking at it upside down reveals that it’s smiling. [[spoiler:After its “evolution”, its skin is hard as rock and it now appears as if it is a giant spider]].

** One monster encountered would look like an average person... if its arms weren’t able to stretch at least thirty feet and its hands not able to grow big enough to crush another person’s arms with just a grasp.

** The fast monster has its knees broken backwards like a velociraptor and has three eyes.
** [[spoiler:The security guard’s]] skin has been morphed into an almost leathery looking substance, its eyes are mostly empty sockets, and its head is able to turn all the way around. [[spoiler:After it’s killed, it’s revealed that it absorbed its victims, and their faces are still visible on its body]].
** The Flying Monster is easily one of the more unique of the bunch, resembling a bat with raptor legs and a heavily deformed face that looks like a mix between a human skull and a demonic arthropod. [[spoiler:Then it transforms and grows a leaner body, long neck, a second pair of wings and much larger talons, resembling a ghoulish wyvern moreso than a deformed human]].

* BrokenAce: Hyun used to be popular, smart, athletic and an all round good guy. Then another classmate came and made everyone else in the class beat him up and cut him off, making him what he is.

* AntiHero: Hyun may not be the nicest person around and he is willing to make some morally ambiguous decisions, but he is firmly on the survivors' side and is only the way he is because he has to look out for the whole group.

''Sweet Home'' (stylised as ''Home [--sweet home--]'' in the comic) is a horror Webcomic about [[{{Hikikomori}} Hyun Cha]], a boy who recently moved after [[OrphansOrdeal his entire family died]], and was unlucky enough to have all this happen during the {{Apocalypse|How}}, an event where people are suddenly turning into monsters. But don't feel too sorry for him, as he's a bit of a JerkAss. [[note]]Fortunately, CharacterDevelopment kicks in soon enough.[[/note]] He and several others take shelter inside an apartment building and try to survive. Eventually, a gang of criminals led by [[BigBad Joon Shin]] break into the apartment and cause trouble for the survivors.

** In the backstory, Myeong-Ja Lim looked away from her baby’s stroller for a moment, during which moment the stroller rolled in the street and got hit by a car. Additionally, at some point in the past, Jisu was the one to discover her boyfriend had committed suicide.
** [[spoiler:Before he became a monster, the security guard snapped and planned to lock everyone inside the building and burn it down]].

** [[spoiler:Known monster infected Myeong-Ja goes into the bathroom and doesn’t come out for two hours]].

** [[spoiler:The first floor group has several monster infected inside, meaning that the idea of a “safe place” is just an illusion]].
** [[spoiler:The Blob was a child who witnessed his mother die and wanted to remain hidden]].

* AffablyEvil: [[spoiler:Ihyun is the nicest of the criminals by a long shot. While the others act polite until it’s not needed, he actually is willing to put his life on the line for others. That said, he’s still loyal to Joon, and his monster side is just as crazy as the others]].

** Hyun actually begs Wook to not kill [[spoiler:Dusik]] because they've finally found the happiness they never found in life, but despite his clear sadness Wook does it anyway. He makes it clear that from his perspective, it's a MercyKill, and both he and Hyun are incredibly shaken by it.
* AllForNothing: All of the moral compromises [[spoiler:Hyein]] makes in a desperate attempt to stay alive end up meaning nothing when [[spoiler:she's attacked and killed by the flying monster while she's zip-lining down from the roof]].

* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: Seok Kim, Myeong-Ja Lim, [[spoiler:the security guard]], [[spoiler:Jay]], [[spoiler:Gapsu]], [[spoiler:Dusik]], [[spoiler:Hyun]], and [[spoiler:Joon]] have all turned into monsters over the course of the story.
* AntiHero: Hyuk may not be the nicest person around and he is willing to make some morally ambiguous decisions, but he is firmly on the survivors side and is only the way he is because he has to look out for the whole group.

* ApocalypticLog: The final chapter reveals that Hyuk made one on a video camera twenty days after the infection started.

* ArbitrarySkepticism: Byeong-Li believes that there's no way a flying monster exists after witnessing a humanoid glob of jello take over a person's body, a real life [[Film/TheIncredibleHulk Abomination]], and [[spoiler:two different half-monsters who can change form at will]]. Hyuk simply tells her she should keep an open mind.

* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: Hyunshik slaps Hyuk and drops the trope name to [[spoiler:snap him out of his infection-induced hallucination]].

* AmbiguousSituation:
** It's not clear if [[spoiler:Ihyun's SanitySlippage]] is the result of the damage he took from the fight with the Tentacle Monster in the lobby or if [[spoiler:his monster split personality has temporarily taken over.]]
** TheReveal of just what causes the monsterization process, [[spoiler:human souls rebelling against their mortal forms to take over their bodies]], comes from the biggest UnreliableNarrator in the entire setting ([[spoiler:Hyun's SuperpoweredEvilSide]]), meaning it's not inherently clear if they're telling the truth.

* AnyoneCanDie: Major characters like [[spoiler:Jayhun, Seop Ahn, and Dusik Hahn]] and supporting characters like [[spoiler:Seok Kim, Seon, Jay, Hyein, and Hyunshik]] have all bitten the dust over the course of the story. At this point, it is clear that no one is safe.

* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: [[spoiler:Once infected, one's mutation will be based of their strongest, deepest desire.]]

* EarnYourHappyEnding: Not for everyone, but one character in particular: [[spoiler:after watching her son die, spending a year convinced that he’s still alive, getting infected by the monster virus, and then realizing her son was dead the whole time, Myeong-Ja Lim rescues two other children and then gives in to her infected side. In the process, she transforms into a giant fetus, granting her the paradise of her own mind while her monster self is unable to harm anyone else]].

* ManlyTears: [[spoiler:Dusik and Hyun both cry as Dusik dies - Hyun because he's dying and Dusik because Hyun coming back for him when his family never did is too much for him.]]
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: Even if the WillingSuspensionOfDisbelief is applied to just how far the human body is able to mutate, there are a few elements to this outbreak that the simple "virus" explanation can't fully explain.
** Hyun's SuperpoweredEvilSide is able to make contact with another monster's dormant personality through direct contact, instructing the monster to kill him.
** [[spoiler:Jay's monster form]] is able to cause psychic headaches in his victims whenever he gets upset, implying some form of PsychicPowers is at play.
** Upon the destruction of [[spoiler:Myeong Ja-Lim's body]], all the monsters immediately fly into a rage and attack the building, showing a mental connection to the destroyed object.

* NothingIsScarier: One of the most terrifying things about this outbreak is that no one has any idea how it actually started. At the beginning of the comic several people are shown introducing theories, but not all of them make sense and none of them can properly explain everything we see. The fact that the infection is also completely random and has no known transfer method only adds to the fear. [[spoiler:Even when we're told straight up what the infection is, it comes from a ConsummateLiar who has proven himself to be untrustworthy, so it's still not 100% clear]].

* AnyoneCanDie: Major characters like [[spoiler:Jayhun, Seop Ahn, and Dusik Hahn]] and supporting characters like [[spoiler:Seok Kim, Seon, Jay, and Hyein]] have all bitten the dust over the course of the story. At this point, it is clear that no one is safe.

* DroppedABridgeOnHim: While he is only a supporting character at best, [[spoiler:Sangsu getting his neck snapped by Joon comes out of absolute nowhere.]]

* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: Seok Kim, Myeong-Ja Lim, [[spoiler:the security guard]], [[spoiler:Jay]], [[spoiler:Gapsu]], [[spoiler:Dusik]], and [[spoiler:Hyun]] have all turned into monsters over the course of the story.

** Several times since being left to the whims of the monsters outside the lobby, we have been shown that [[spoiler:Joon]] is surviving the attack, leaving it ambiguous as to what exactly is happening to him.

* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: Seok Kim, Myeong-Ja Lim, [[spoiler:the security guard]], [[spoiler:Jay]], [[spoiler:Gapsu]], and [[spoiler:Dusik]] have all turned into monsters over the course of the story.

* AnyoneCanDie: Major characters like [[spoiler:Jayhun, Seop Ahn, and Dusik Hahn]] and supporting characters like [[spoiler:Seok Kim, Seon, and Jay]] have all bitten the dust over the course of the story. At this point, it is clear that no one is safe.

* ArmorPiercingQuestion: After Hyun begs Wook to not kill the monster form of [[spoiler:Dusik]] because they've finally found happiness, Wook quickly gives him a counter argument that quiets him completely.

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Hyuk deliberately does not tell his sister that [[spoiler:he's infected]]. [[spoiler:She does not take the eventual revelation well]].

** Ihyun doesn't even blink when [[spoiler:Hyuk confirms Hyunshik and Gapsu are dead]] and goes straight to getting ready to defend everyone's lives. It's again {{justified}} by the fact that there's many more important things to deal with.

* NightmareFace: The author's trademark style shines through with the monsters and the monster infected, giving them one of these anytime anyone of them does anything evil. The criminals also get it sometimes, to a lesser degree, as well as [[spoiler:Hyein after her SanitySlippage]].

* NothingIsScarier: One of the most terrifying things about this outbreak is that no one has any idea how it actually started. At the beginning of the comic several people are shown introducing theories, but not all of them makes sense and none of them can properly explain everything we see. * DramaticIrony: Seok Kim, the man most passionate about kicking Hyun out of the group for being a monster, starts showing the symptoms of becoming a monster during his speech.

* HoldTheLine: After the group makes it to the roof [[spoiler:during the monster invasion, Ihyun and Yuri are left to the task of trying to hold all of the monsters back from killing everyone else]].
