* AntiHero: Pretty much every character in the series (with the exception of Sally and Lara) is this, what with their horrible personalities the majority of them being monsters and debauchery-based destruction. Jeff is a straight-up VillainProtagonist, Eyeless Jack just has issues with his co-workers, and Slenderman borders on VillainProtagonist.serial killers.

* AxCrazy: No joke, ''every single main/secondary character'', save for Aton and Lara, have moments where they portray common traits of a psychopath.
** Jeff the Killer's personality is more or less the main as his original's. He regularly murders people for laughs, terrorizes his own friends and goes on homicidal rampages at a bank, among other things.
** Zalgo has destroyed entire civilizations, ruined the lives of billions, massacres and enslaves millions on a daily basis, all ForTheEvulz.
** President Bush is often portrayed as a PsychopathicManChild because of his extreme obsession with the money and power.

* BlackAndGreyMorality: This comes into play when you have [[SerialKiller Jeff the Killer]] and [[EldritchAbomination Slenderman]] on one side, and [[GodOfEvil Zalgo]] and [[OmnicidalManiac Enderman]] on the other.
** One the grey side we have the Proxies, [[VillainsProtagonist our heroes]]. They are brutal serial killers and psychopaths. Even though they have their PetTheDog moments, their still extremely ruthless and sadistic, and make commit acts of horrifying violence, although most of it is played for laughs.
** On the black side we have Zalgo, Enderman, and Mancala. Enderman and his gang are simple bandits and killers, who do needlessly cruel acts mostly ForTheEvulz and to also topple Slenderman as face of the Under Realm. Zalgo is a horrific demon who razes entire plants ToCreateAPlaygroundForEvil and longs to [[OmnicidalManiac destroy all life]]. Mancala is also an OmnicidalManiac who longs to destroy all sapient life, but also needlessly murders anyone he comes across ForTheEvulz.

* ByTheLightsOfTheirEyes: The characters have glowing eyes during the night scene.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Ms. P., Slender Man, BEN and Jeff also have their rare moments.

* SlidingScaleOfComedyAndHorror: A slightly zigzagged variant. The comedy definitely triumphs, but the series is still capable of creating tension and drama as by Grinny's backstory and every scene with the Seed Eaters and the Stiltwalker.

* SlidingScaleOfSillinessVsSeriousness: The comic zigzags between both ends of the scale. The bulk of the comic is a silly comedy that pokes fun at ''Creepypasta'' cliches. The drama scenes, however, are mostly treated very seriously in stark contrast. In a more character related example, Zalgo commits horrific atrocities ForTheEvulz, all played for seriousness. The Proxies themselves have committed similar actions, albeit not as wide-scale, but almost every vile act they commit is played for laughs.

It chronicles multiple {{Creepypasta}} characters, such as [[Franchise/TheSlenderManMythos Slenderman]], Jeff, and Smile.dog, as they go about their lives. It has been up since 2011. The plot revolves around the Proxies daily lives that range from saving the multiverse to finding where the TV remote went.

** Ms. P has also raped Jeff on at least three occasions, but it's all played for laughs.
** [[MeaningfulName Sexual Offenderman]] does this as a hobby. One scene cuts in on him spooning an uncomfortable Laughing Jack in his bed. He then pats Jack on the back and says "You look so peaceful sleeping." Once he leaves, Jack starts crying and screaming [[BigWhy "WHHHHHHYYYY?!"]]

* TheCaligula: Slenderman, Jeff, Zalgo, X, President Bush and Enderman all have shades of this.
* CerebusSyndrome: Despite the earlier episodes having its dark moments, the recent episode, while still being a comedy, is now totally okay with showing deeper psychological traumas, BloodierAndGorier violence, and ups the ante on the comic's conflict. It's pretty safe to say that ''Pasta Monsters'' is no longer the [[WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy Family Guy]]-esque cartoon it used to be. The comedy, however, makes it's return come the "Jeff and the Darkness" arc, although it was really never gone to begin with.

* DarkerAndEdgier: Ironically enough, this series is edgier than {{WebOriginal/Creepypasta}} in some ways. While it's MUCH less serious, its content is much more explicit, dirty, violent and graphic. That, and the sheer amount of BlackComedy and ComedicSociopathy. If anything, this is a Reconstruction of the LighterAndSofter trope and Jeff's backstory in this game is by far less dark than his original's backstory.

* DiminishingVillainThreat: Enderman and his gang are nowhere near as powerful and threatening as they used to be, with later episodes focusing on Zalgo as the main threat.
* DownerEnding: The original ending of the comic planned by Comickit. [[spoiler: Plague Doctor joins Enderman and subsequently kills Slenderman. He phones Enderman about it but finds that Enderman refuses to pay him for it, and Enderman instead tells him to go back to "clown school". He still has enough money to flee to the Human World, so he goes to Switzerland where he attempts suicide due to being wracked with guilt over what he has done, and having to end his relationship with Jefrera. He can't go through with it, but he is still not in a good place mentally because he now has to live with the fact that he's a murderer. His relationship with the Proxies completely shatters (with Jeff and BEN swearing to kill him for what he has done). Even worse, Enderman becomes the new Operator with B.O.B and the Rake at his side, and it's only a matter of time before he makes the Proxies pay for interfering with his plans.]] Thank the Lord Comickit canned it.

** Jeff went from being a loud, bombastic and childish party animal to a cynical, depressed atoner, and then to a comical, manipulative, sadistic, calculating, racist degenerate with TokenEvilTeammate traits.
** BEN used to be every bit as nasty, careless, idiotic, and childish as Jeff was. Later episodes portray him more as a laid-back genius who doesn't even murder people routinely.
** Slenderman was a looming, ominous VillainProtagonist who didn't hesitate to kill Jeff and BEN if they disappointed him. Later he became a depressed, cranky, [[TheComicallySerious Comically Serious]] and egocentric MeanBoss with SissyVillain traits. Any episode showing him in the past portrays him as being just as serious as his pilot personality, showing that his time with Jeff mellowed him out greatly.
** Enderman started as a sinister, cackling presence that wasn't afraid to look Jeff and BEN in the eye and threaten to kill them. More importantly, he held the intention of wiping out an entire city full of people for the sole purpose of showing of testing a new device; the episode made it explicitly clear Enderman and his team would not stop until they were all dead. Come Season 3, he's much more cowardly and benign, with a characterization that drifts back and forth between "a stereotypical EvilGenius and a bit of an irresponsible curmudgeon" and "irritable jerkass who gets mad at the Proxies for getting on his lawn"
** Zalgo was an emotionless demon who spoke with a CreepyMonotone and lacked any of his (albeit small) LargeHam tenancies later on.

* EveryoneKnowsMorse: The Epsilon Cult's website is written entirely in Morse Code.
* EveryoneWentToSchoolTogether: The Proxies did, as we get to see how it went in the "Blast to the Past" series and fully experience it in the "High School" arc.

** The Minions of Zalgo before they eventually became [[VillainDecay canon fodder]] in later episodes. Not only were they among the most dangerous enemies the Proxies had every faced, special attention was brought to the many planets they massacre.
** X is every bit as evil as his commander, Zalgo. The only difference, however, is that Zalgo [[FauxAffablyEvil tries to hide his sadism through large words and an affable personality]], X doesn't even ''try'' to do so.

** Mr. Widemouth also qualifies.
* LaughablyEvil: Nearly every villain who isn't Zalgo or X.

** The series might be seen as a Reconstruction of LighterAndSofter. While the protagonists are arguably even worse than their ''Creepypasta'' counterparts, ''Pastamonsters'' brings back a sense of fun, wackiness, and hijinks that is not present in ''Creepypasta'', such as over the top adventures, bizarre and wacky characters, and goofy plots such as aliens, and Bigfoot.

* MindScrew: The Barney episode is bizarre, even by the series standards.
* MoralDissonance: Oh, yes. The Proxies' everyday actions are ''very'' immoral, but the comic never call him out on it. Instead, it plays it for laughs.[[note]]In the Under Realm, the Proxies' everyday activities aren't considered immoral[[/note]]

* PresidentEvil: President Bush allows the Monsters to murder the people of the world as long as they pay him a weekly check. Even ''without'' the Proxy's involvement Bush is easily one of the most morally bankrupt protagonists on the comic.
* SadistShow: Cheerful bullying of mentally ill, disabled, or terminally ill constitutes an awful amount of the jokes in the series. Genuine protagonists, such as Rick Bernstein, are frequently mocked, ridiculed, and the victims of many AmusingInjuries. If someone is in intense pain to the point of suicidal it will almost invariably be mocked and worsened to the extreme.
* ShipTease: Between Jeff and BEN of all people in the dubbed versions. Jeff was apparently dreaming about him in one episode[[note]]followed by Jeff discovering that he has morning wood, which doesn't help matters at all[[/note]] and later comments that BEN "would know" about his sex life.

* SlidingScaleOfPlotVersusCharacters: Less plot than characters. The story is a basic ''Creepypasta'' parody—the real meat of the comic is the characters and how they interact with each other, particularly the chemistry between the Proxies.

* SlidingScaleOfVillainThreat: The series actually packs some pretty powerful villains. Even the least efficient antagonist, Enderman, is capable of constructing devices able to destroy a city. However, the more serious villains, like Zalgo and Mancala, have potentials to destroy the ''omniverse'' on some occasions.
* TeamDad: Slenderman is one to the Proxies.

If you're a [[OnlySaneMan sane person]] in this comic, don't expect to get any leeway. Everybody's either incredibly racist, perverted, corruptible, immoral, socially incompetent, mentally ill, or y'know... A ''monster''. To call it a CrapsackWorld would be an understatement.
* WouldHurtAChild: This tends to pop up a lot and it's usually PlayedForLaughs.
** Jeff himself has no problem harming or even killing children. He has murdered a child at least once every season.
** Slenderman tends to play with this trope. Given his absolute ruthlessness, it's made clear he definitely doesn't care about the age of anyone he murders/brainwashes.
** Ms. P has killed children before. In one instance, she killed a gang of seven kids by giving him poisoned candy.
** The Stiltwalker and the Seedeater also aren't too picky about who they devour.
** Zalgo himself is one, but it is portrayed more seriously than the others mentioned above.

And in a more specific instance, when Jeff learns about Shadowlurker's ability to disable weapons, Jeff lets him disable a grenade.... by having him remove the pin, then throws it at Shadowlurker's face, exploding it in his face.
* CoolBike: Jeff's new ride is a mechanized bike that seemingly never runs out of fuel, can easily support his weight in his massive armor, and has wheels that can turn into giant spiked weapons. [[spoiler: It doesn't last long.]]
* CringeComedy: Basically the scenes of Jeff talking to his hallucinations can qualify. When the hallucinations disappear and you see Jeff having full blown conversations, the scenes can be cringe-worthy and uncomfortable to watch. Even Lara & Shadowlurker get uncomfortable.
* CurbStompBattle:
** Jeff's fight with Zalgo's Inquisitors goes decently in his favor.
** The fight with the Grand High Inquisitor's Elite on the other hand... not so much.
* DarkerAndEdgier: The comic features more visible blood, less ambiguous violence, Jeff's constant urges to end his life, and more emotional trauma to boot. The ''very first page'', a dilapidated Under Realm with murals to Slenderman everywhere, gives us a clear indication of what's to come.
* DeathOfAChild: This is definitely applied in the very first issue when Jeff explores the destroyed remnants of a mercenary group that was killed by the Shadowlurker. Jeff sees a lot of human corpses, some of which were people he had befriended, and at one point his guilty conscience makes him hallucinate that the dead children are pleading him to save them.
* DeconReconSwitch:
** {{Deconstruction}}: This comic is more than just DarkerAndEdgier. It clearly shows the consequences and cost of being a lone serial killer stranded in the future fighting an immortal creature that is a personification of evil. Many elements of the canon comic that had uncomfortable implications are explored in depth as well as the toll it would take on Jeff and those involved. To wit:
*** After Slenderman is killed by Zalgo, it was fine for the Proxies being in a stalemate with Zalgo for only a few years and provided that there was a chance to defeat him. With Slenderman gone and Zalgo effectively withdrawing from open conflict, the Proxies have to go one their own, splitting up and going about their lives, avoiding death at the hands of Zalgo's minions. Saying that this has not been good for either the Proxies or Zalgo's mental health, would be an understatement.
*** While things were shown to be bad under Zalgo's rule in the canon season, this comic in particular doesn't pull any punches about what a CrapsackWorld Zalgo has turned the universe into. For starters, ''Zalgo is the ruler of the Under Realm''. When Jeff fights his first serious villain, the comic shows the butchered corpses of the mercenaries Jeff had befriended. Jeff is later forced to show Lara a good hard look at how bad the world of Zalgo is when he shows her the remains of the destroyed Proxy Mansion and then the unscathed statue of Slenderman. Zalgo destroyed the mansion but left the statue because he wanted people to despair at what once was.
** {{Reconstruction}}: After Jeff is reunited with Lara and Bill and moreso when he meets back up with BEN and Smile, many of the elements deconstructed are slowly put back together. While things have overall seemed lost and Jeff had lost himself to despair and rage, it is shown that one man can make a difference and that many small actions over time can produce huge results
* DespairEventHorizon: Jeff is very much nearing this. The last nine years have not been kind to him, especially as Zalgo has apparently eliminated Slenderman, leaving the Proxies without their top gun. The ever-growing futility of his task has been wearing down on our "hero" noticeably.
* DefeatEqualsExplosion: [[spoiler: Shadowlurker explodes into dark matter after Jeff bisects him.]]
* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: The entire first half of the story revolves around Lara reassembling the Proxies to fight back against Zalgo.

* MoralDissonance: Oh, yes. The Proxies' everyday actions are ''very'' immoral, but the comic never call him out on it. Instead, it plays it for laughs.[[note]]In the Under Realm, the Proxies' everyday activities aren't considered immortal[[/note]]

* EveryoneWhenToSchoolTogether: The Proxies did, as we get to see how it went in the "Blast to the Past" series and fully experience it in the "High School" arc.

* TokenEvilTeammate: The word "evil" is a [[BlackAndGreyMorality relative term]], but Jeff is possibly the most unhinged and sociopathic of the Proxies.

* BadBoss:
** It is implied many times that Slenderman has killed many Proxies for their failures. He has also tried to kill Jeff and BEN on numerous occasions.
** Enderman is known to use B.O.B as a test subject multiple times.
** Zalgo and X casually murder their henchmen at the top of a hat.

* DownerEnding: The original ending of the comic planned by Comickit. [[spoiler: Plague Doctor joins Enderman and subsequently kills Slenderman. He phones Enderman about it but finds that Enderman refuses to pay him for it, and Enderman instead tells him to go back to "clown school". He still has enough to flee to the Human World, so he goes to Switzerland where he attempts suicide due to being wracked with guilt over what he has done, and having to end his relationship with Jefrera. He can't go through with it, but he is still not in a good place mentally because he now has to live with the fact that he's a murderer. His relationship with the Proxies completely shatters (with Jeff and BEN swearing to kill him for what he has done). Even worse, Enderman becomes the new Operator with B.O.B and the Rake at his side, and it's only a matter of time before he makes the Proxies pay for interfering with his plans.]] Thank the Lord Comickit canned it.
