This description was copied from the webcomic directly, and there are no quotes around "him" in the official description. Not every transgender person that currently identifies as female has always identified as female since birth. Contradicting the author's own word on what the appropriate pronoun is for the main character's younger identity is presumptuous at best and misgendering at worst. If the author thinks the he pronoun is appropriate, who are you to disagree with quotation marks?

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The first page was originally created as a one-off, and has a much simpler art style than the rest of the comic. Cheryl also retains her natural brown eyes, having not yet adopted the blue contacts she'd have later on.

* HarshWordImpact:
** When Zack comments that Cheryl's voice still sounds like Charon's, unknowingly hurting her feelings, it's represented by his speech bubble stabbing her.
--->''Critical hit!''
** When Zack asks Tristan what he'll do if Cheryl rejects his feelings, his speech bubble stabs the latter. (To his credit, he then says he'd accept her rejection without judgment.)

* OnceMoreWithClarity: It's assumed that dressing "Charon" up as a girl was a spur-of-the-moment joke on Chelsie's part, but her own flashback chapter reveals that [[spoiler:she actually did it because she was worried about his mental health and had seen the signs that he was actually a trans girl]].
