This particular run is actually an intermission of ''VideoGame/PokemonVietnameseCrystal'', played between major runs starting after ''WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonRedAnniversary'', starring a girl named "BABA", after a Magikarp caught during said previous run. Like ''WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonConquest'' beforehand, it is played fully on Democracy Mode, although unlike Conquest it only registers one command at a time without stacking inputs [[note]]You can vote for "a" or "start" but not "a9" or "leftupa"[[/note]].

''Twitch Plays Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal'' (also known as ''Elf's World'' by the chat and the [=TPP=] community) is played in alternating order with ''WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonArena'', an intermission of ''Pokemon Battle Revolution'' where players bet on either Red or Blue teams in Pokemon battles and control what the computer may choose for them. The way both games work is, after a battle has been concluded, people have 50 seconds to vote for a command where the one with the most votes gets that command inputted. Those who voted also have a chance to win tokens, in which they can either place them in a pool, use them to create custom matches or play custom music, or gamble them in a slot machine. Considering how long a battle takes to set up and finish before every voting session, it's best to say this run will take a while.

The run officially started on March 24, 2015, immediately after the completion of ''[[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonRedAnniversary Red Anniversary]]'', and persisted through the intervals after the [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysTouhoumonAndMoemon following]] [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonAlphaSapphire three]] [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonColosseum runs.]] Baba became the Champion on September 9, 2015, before moving onto the Kanto region of the game and defeating Sorcerer Sho, Vietnamese Crystal's version of Red, on November 10th 2015. Vietnamese Crystal ultimately ended when ''[[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonXD Twitch Plays Pokémon XD]]'' began on December 12th, 2015; once XD run ended, ''WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonTradingCardGame'' took VC's place as the intermission game.

Note: Only tropes unique to this particular run should be listed here. All tropes for the original bootleg can be found on its own [[VideoGame/PokemonVietnameseCrystal page]].

!!''Twitch Plays Pokémon Vietnamese Crystal'' contains examples of:
* AutoSave: Creates a save-state after each input. Oddly, after the crash, it was noticed that all states created after the Touhoumon/Moemon save (Farfetch'd puzzle in Ilex Forest) were null, except for one state that Revo found that leads before the 7th Gym but after the Rocket Hideout.
* CommutingOnABus: Due to being played along ''Arena'', this run disappears whenever a main run is playing.
* ChivalrousPervert: Wujisi in a nutshell.
* CueCardPause: Each block of speech has been interpreted differently by various people, especially those who cannot sit and wait through long dialogue. This is the basis for the various personalities of the game's characters.
* DisappearedDad: Subverted as Baba's father, a shiny Gyarados, was found rampaging about on Angry Lake, Fish Lake. Since his capture, he serves as a member of Baba's team.
* ExactWords: Some of the translated attacks, such as F-Car (Flame Wheel) being a luxury car and Force (Strength) being [[Franchise/StarWars The Force]] from the ''Star Wars'' movies.
* TheGamblingAddict: Baba is this as a result of [[AsymmetricMultiplayer the way democracy works in this game]].
* GameBreakingBug:
** Bugs on the original bootleg that crash the game are still present, although the team behind ''Red Anniversary'' are working on fixing these bugs throughout the run. Of course, this hasn't stopped the chat to crash and reset the game, with the available save-state at the time (that being the one made before ''[[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysTouhoumonAndMoemon Touhoumon And Moemon]]'' started) sending the mob all the way back to ''Ilex Forest'', [[ShaggyDogStory just when they were about to get the final badge and challenge the Elite 4, too]].
** Between the Ice Cave and Victory Road, ''Arena''[='=]s save states were starting to overwrite ''Vietnamese Crystal''[='=]s states, and the stream's PC crash resulted on backtracking the team back to Ice Cave for a few hours, with Dong's capture being temporarily null.
* HaveAGayOldTime: Baba's Tentacruel is named Gay, due to an impromptu input on the letter "G". The same goes for Dong the Suicune, who originally was supposed to be called Entei; players noticed that Suicune is named Don in the game and decided to just add a "G" at the end of the word.
* ImprobablyCoolCar: Best's F-Car (a mistranslation of Flame Wheel), which exists on a region where automobiles are rarely used/mentioned. Even so, he doesn't use it for driving; he would rather use it to [[CarFu attack his opponents]].
* JustOneSecondOutOfSync: On July 1, 2015, the leap second managed to break the Twitch chat and stop all inputs processing, resulting in Baba defaulting to the previously chosen option of A. Being one second out of sync literally halted progress.
* LittleBitBeastly: Baba, who unlike [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonHeartGold Aoooo]], is usually seen as Pokemon (being a Magikarp) who has turned mostly human. Elves sometimes are referred as the racial name for Humanoid Pokemon, such as Baba.
* MarathonLevel: Due to its gameplay setup, anything that would last a few minutes in a normal playthrough takes ''hours or days'' in the stream. The chat takes precautions so that Baba won't black out or wander off for a few tiles to save time.
* MiniGame: Serves as this for ''Arena'', showing up between battles or after a quiz.
* MyNameIsQuestionMarks: Mailman Spearow's name is "????".
* {{Nerf}}: Democracy Mode. Unlike previous incarnations, players can vote for only one command per voting session. In other words, players can vote for "a" or "start" but not "a9" or "leftupa". The time it takes for a voting session to start is also dependent on whether how long it takes for the ''Arena'' portion to finish [[note]] Four and a half minutes for betting, a minute-fifteen for results, and the battle itself[[/note]].
* NamesTheSame:[[invoked]] Two of Dong's moves are both called Wind.
* NotAllowedToGrowUp: Orgy and Ever never evolved since their capture since Best was the main Pokemon used for the run, and they are harshly underleveled by the endgame.
* OneManParty: Best takes this role while the others are used for "backups" (mainly [=HM=] slaves). Justified due to the run's extremely slow gameplay making leveling-up Pokemon more time consuming than what it's normally like.
* OneSteveLimit: Baba's rival and her Togepi are both called Deku, named after [=DekuNukem=] A.K.A. Twitch_Plays_[=3DS=].
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Dada, which Baba would naturally call him that since he is her father, unless Dada actually is his real name.
* RetGone:
** A vast majority of the party, both on hand and in the box, ended up becoming this when the save state crashed and the game ended up resetting in ''Ilex Forest''. [[note]]To give an idea, the mob was [[ShaggyDogStory close to getting the final badge and challenging the Elite 4]] at the point when it happened.[[/note]] It was temporary, as a save state was found where Baba finished the Rocket Hideout but hasn't started the 7th Gym, which lost about five days of progress but kept the entire party intact.
** A second one occurred, in which the save states were overwritten by ''Arena's'' states despite a hard save implemented a few days ago, this time resetting Baba from Victory Road back to the Ice Cave and Dong disappearing as a result. It was after a few hours in which they returned back to Victory Road, using a save created by one of the TPP community members (as in playing the game up to the crash point).
* RotatingArcs: With ''WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonArena''. It alternates between betting/battling (or a quiz) and inputting.
* SuperSpeed: {{Downplayed}}. Using the bike allows Baba to move ''two'' tiles at once or one tile while turning, speeding up progress.
* TalkingIsAFreeAction: Due to single input limits and one word line-processing, text (battle or NPC) takes hours to complete, although nothing bad happens gameplaywise during those hours.
* ThemeNaming: The three main Pokemon, in debut order, spell out [[spoiler: BEST ORGY EVER.]]
** ShoutOut: Collectively, the protagonist and her rival are named after the [[http://zeldawiki.org/Deku_Baba Deku Baba]] from ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda''.
* TranslationTrainwreck: This is the world our heroes find themselves trapped in.
* {{Troll}}:
** The Select Sect, a group of people whose job is to vote select every voting session in order to prolong the game. They tend to win when a split vote between two progressing inputs are going on.
** However, the Sect is usually supported by non-Sect members when first stepping outside, since the Bicycle had been registered to select.
** Thanks to a combination of chat leaders and general trolls, FAKE ended up getting released. [[EpicFail In democracy.]]
* VideoGameRemake: PlayedForLaughs. The chat sometimes refer ''[[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver]]'', whenever music from their games play, as ELF HD.
* WhoNamesTheirKidDude: Best the Quilava was named after Wusiji Dr told Baba her starter is the best. Fake's name was based on his Pokedex entry. Ever, however, is merely named for the team's theme naming.
