Every member of the Mane Six, and Spike, and Celestia, are voiced by the same guy - which is really impressive given the complexity of the dialogue when several characters are talking. In fact, Getschman is the sole voice credit for the first episode. After that, a few more voice actors are brought on board, including an actual female voice for Luna. The majority of characters are still Getschman's, though.
* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: Well, it didn't protect the show's editor from Pinkie. Trixie also addresses the audience directly and rather malevolently.
* TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry: Celestia and Luna are constantly arguing (and Celestia is almost certainly the cause of every argument, intentionally or not).
** Following her existential crisis at the end of episode 4, Applejack seems to be becoming more straight, too.
* VocalDissonance: Apple Bloom speaks in an incredibly unfitting English male upper-class accent, due to her attending a prestigious foreign school.
* WhoWritesThisCrap: Nightmare Moon is deeply unimpressed with the poorly-handled foreshadowing of her appearance.
* UnreliableNarrator: At the end of Episode 2, we find out that it was Celestia who was narrating the StorybookOpening - which raises a lot of doubt as to just how much of it was accurate.
