He broadcasts daily LetsPlay videos on [=YouTube=] and occasionally streams on Platform/{{Twitch}}. His channel predominately features OTT reaction videos and playthroughs of SurvivalHorror games, as well as monthly charity livestreams.

Then he tells him to make it blasphemous, stops and reconsiders for a moment, and then tells Lixian to go ahead and make it blasphemous. Lixian proclaims the podcast is "more entertaining than the Literature/{{Bible}}."

** In his second episode off ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'', Golden Freddy [[JumpScare appeared]] right at the end of the phone call on the third night. Mark promptly pulled out the camera multiple times in a panic, and managed to accidentally follow the instructions to de-summon Golden Freddy without even knowing what he was doing.

** In his ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' playthrough, he initially calls Bonnie, the bunny animatronic, "Bunny Bolliday", which doubles as this and a ShoutOut to Billie Holliday. In ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys3'' he takes to calling Springtrap (the main animatronic) "Bunny Bastard Bitch Balls".

* BigYes: He celebrates with one whenever he manages to complete a night in ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' as a result of their infamous difficulty of keeping the animatronics at bay. Special mention goes to the time when he [[HarderThanHard beats 4-20 mode.]]

** The same can be said for his playthrough of ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys''. He spends seven hours offscreen attempting to beat "4/20 mode" (the hardest custom difficulty possible) until he finally wins. Exaggerated with him doing the same with the [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys2 sequel]], where he plays the Golden Freddy mode, AKA 10/20, for ''nine hours straight''.

** In Part 2 of ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'', he begins the fourth day listening to the starting phone conversation as per usual. Unfortunately, he becomes so interested in it that he completely forgets to check any part of the building and defend himself, in a game about checking parts of the building so he can defend himself. [[spoiler:Needless to say, he's killed before the phone conversation even ends when Foxy sprints into the office.]]

* ForegoneConclusion: The ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5H7HqayshM fail compilation.]] The whole point of that video is to show a couple of different ways Markiplier lost in [[ThatOneLevel 4/20]] [[HarderThanHard Mode]].

* HopeSpot: Mark very, ''very'' narrowly escapes being mauled by [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys Freddy]] on his first night, and celebrates accordingly... before being immediately reminded he has four[[note]]actually six[[/note]] more days to go.

** [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys "It's just not a party without my good friend]], Mr. [=BunBun=]. Or Mr. Happy Duck. Mr. Quacky Smack."

** The instant he realizes that ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' has more than five nights, his glee at "beating" the game vanishes.

** He's [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys Purple Guy]]. He first states it in one of his playthrough videos ("Maybe I'm Purple Guy!"), in the opening for WebVideo/GameTheory's 'Why FNAF Will Never End' video he appears out of the locked box stating "It was me!", and his title card in 'Warfstache Interviews Markiplier' video lists his occupation as 'Purple Guy'.

** He doesn't seem to be fond of [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys Phone Guy]], sighing and groaning when Phone Guy starts in with his normal "Hello, hello?" and even theorizing that he might be the killer during ''2''.

** ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'':
*** When playing the first game for the first time, before '''the lore''' exploded in popularity, he accidentally calls Freddy Fazbear "[[WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls Fuzzy Lumpkins]]".
