* AbortedArc: The topic of Raven's monologue in episode 1, keeping her grades up while balancing her night job as a magical girl, suggests a WakeUpGoToSchoolSaveTheWorld plot structure. Her night job never comes up again, and neither do her grades, with the rest of the series instead having a heavier SliceOfLife focus. The creators have {{lampshade|Hanging}}d this at least once, calling it the kind of thing that a writer would put if they didn't expect more episodes to be made.

** Likewise, Kipp is not given a name within episode 5, despite being prominent as the antagonist of the episode.

* ArcWords: The phrase "I love this school! I want to live here!" crops up repeatedly. In episode 2, [=DrillGirl=] says it first, when she throws a dodgeball into the school and causes it to explode. In episode 4, Locke says it while he's beating up Raven, and episode 5, it's part of the lyrics of the song Strawberry sings, "Lunchtime Fun".

* NoNameGiven: Ryan Sasuke's name is never mentioned in episode 1, only being listed in the credits. It's lampshaded in episode 2, where Berrycream finally mentions it and Dark Shi replies "Oh, was that his name?"

* JapaneseSchoolClub: Raven's opponents are from the school's various clubs. They range from normal things like the yearbook committee and the martial arts club, to slightly absurd ones like the "after-school blades club" and "varsity darts club", to patently ridiculous ones like the "4th period pirate club" and "4th period ninja club". The main antagonist of the series, Room 424, is a ''world domination'' club.

** Episode 5 features [[Franchise/{{Nasuverse}} Red Saber]] and Lesbian [[Manga/OnePiece Roronoa Zoro]] as students at the cultural festival, representing the After-School Blades Club.
** The Collectors Club in episode 5 has a bunch of [[VideoGame/BanjoKazooie Jinjos]] in it, for some reason.

** Episode 5 also has a post-credits scene, where it turns out Strawberry lost the talent show she was competing in to the Walkie Talkie Man.

* InfoDump: Episode 1 has Raven, upon seeing Dark Shi, immediately giving a long speech listing off miscellaneous facts about her, like her shoe size and her liking classic rock. She goes on for over half a minute, then when she's finished, Dark Shi's only reply is [[BluntYes "Yeah."]]
* InsertSong: There are two original songs in the series so far: "Sparkle On Forever", which is sung in episode 3 while the characters are celebrating Christmas, and "Lunchtime Fun", which Strawberry sings during the school's talent show in episode 5. Notably, while "Lunchtime Fun" is a cover of an existing song ("Invincible Rainbow Arrow" from ''VideoGame/AITheSomniumFiles''), "Sparkle On Forever" is completely original.

Apparently the series takes place in the southern hemisphere, since Christmas is during the summer, though there's a comically confusing mix of tropical and wintery elements: "We're all bundled up but it's a hundred degrees!" Despite what the name implies, it's not a SavingChristmas plot.
* ColdOpen: Episode 5 starts out with Berrycream Frosting waking up and getting ready for the day before [[DelayedReaction realizing]] that her bell is missing and she's stuck as a bunny.

* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: Though not at first, the cast of the series has grown quite large, thanks to being a collaborative effort with dozens of artists contributing their own designs.

* WordSaladLyrics: Episode 5 features Strawberry's song, "Lunchtime Fun", which has lyrics like "Love as a reward / beautiful adore / emotional explore". They do seem to follow a vague theme, of friends getting together to have lunch.

** Scout appears as her pre-transition self Chase at the end of episode 1 through green-screening. His credits are listed as "Design - Chase, Voice - 'Chase'".

* CreativeClosingCredits: The credits feature chibi versions of the characters singing real songs while concept art of the characters is shown in the background.
