[[WMG: Prowl is the one responsible for [[spoiler: Overlord]] being on the ''Lost Light''.]]
This was foreshadowed way back in the first issue; [[spoiler: Overlord]] was Prowl's "plan" to keep Rodimus and his crew from leaving. To whit, [[spoiler: Overlord was repaired, at least physically, on Prowl's orders, secretly moved out of the Autobot penal system, and was the cargo loaded into the ''Lost Light'' by Shock and Ore. It seems likely that Overlord's presence was supposed to be revealed in order to get Rodimus to turn his ship around, and head back to Cybertron to offload him, since even Rodimus would probably pause at keeping Overlord around, and Prowl most likely intended that once that happened, he'd ensure that the ship wouldn't be able to take off again. Shock and Ore's deaths derailed this however, since they were the only ones who knew about Overlord's presence before Red Alert found out. This level of extremism, and the ability to cover up Overlord's location-remember, Rung told Fort Max that Overlord had been imprisoned-fits with Prowl's characterization in the IDW comics.]]

[[WMG: The Lost Light is going to get its own combiner; Defensor.]]
* Because ALL of the members of the Protectobots are now onboard the ''Lost Light'', though First Aid is the only one of them to get any real exposure. But Blades has been a background crewmember since season one, and rather conveniently, the season 2 comics have seen Hot Spot, Groove and Streetwise, the remaining three members of the team sign up as well, though again, the comics haven't called attention to it apart from Groove in the Crewditions gag. Given the 2015 Generations' toyline being heavily combiner focused (with new versions of Superion and Menasor, who also happen to be two of the few current combiners active in the IDW 'verse) AND a duo of multipacks that are non-combining Protectobots who are repaints of various Prime, Universe and Movie toys and, it seems likely that Defensor is in the works. Conveniently, this would also mean that all the major groups of characters across the comics would have something to tie them into the next CrisisCrossover (the Autobots, or perhaps more accurately, Prowl, has Devastator, the Decepticons have Menasor, Starscream's Cybertron would have Superion, and Monstructor is still out there as a WildCard along with Defensor for the ''Lost Light''). This will probably coincide with the announcement of a Defensor toy, probably either at Toy Fair or BotCon 2015, which are when Hasbro likes to do its big reveals.

While on Mederi, Team Rodimus are initially under the impression they're in the Afterspark and waiting to "ascend", only to later learn it's pretty much a euthenasia clinic made to look like the Afterspark thanks to a group of psychics there. Before they learn this though, both Ten and Nightbeat end up "ascending", their sparks bursting from their chests and floating into the large Matrix in the sky... one problem with that though. In the pages of ComicBook/TheTransformersUnicron, after Soundwave conducts his HeroicSacrifice he is welcomed into the Afterspark but all the noteworthy characters that died during "Phase 2" of the IDW universe, even some that aren't even Transformers like Mainframe/Blaine. And yet, ''neither Ten nor Nightbeat are there''.

In Roberts' fic ''Eugenesis'', several ideas seen in the pages of MTMTE can be found there first, like Star Saber being a zealot, "Cold Constructed" Transformers, Primus and Unicron being much more mundane in nature, or even the original debut of Rung. There's one idea in that fic though worth mentioning here: Nightbeat's ''clone''. ''Eugenesis'''s post-script has Nightbeat, despite dying, showing up alive again, revealing himself to be a clone of the original Nightbeat down to sharing memories, but being fully aware he's a clone, in a manner similar to that of the TheseusShipParadox. Considering how much of ''Eugenesis'' Roberts ended up referencing in MTMTE, it's entirely possible that Nightbeat and Ten's absence from the Afterspark welcoming Soundwave was meant to be a hint to the fact they ''weren't'' dead, but, much like Nightbeat in ''Eugensis'', gonna come back but technically as clones, just with their original Sparks, something he couldn't follow through with due to IDW enforcing a ContinuityReboot. Would certainly explain why, outside of the initial death scenes themselves, none of the cast really get the chance to ''mourn'' the two of them, which from a narrative perspective would work since they weren't ''actually'' dead.

[[WMG:The quest for Cybertopia wasn't intended to be the GrandFinale]]
Before ExecutiveMeddling got in the way, it's very likely that the adventures of the Lost Light ''wouldn't'' have ended just because the original quest for Cybertopia did. Roberts admitted in the Author's Note that he had originally known the direction of the story and characters for eight years, but that he doesn't know anymore, hence the somewhat open ending of having the Lost Light create another Quantum Duplicate for more adventures occur. The original plan likely had more adventures in the works, as Roberts had ''years'' worth of stories to fit in before IDW stated a ContinuityReboot needed to happen, and the characters even joked about starting a new quest at points in the final issues, possibly tying into a more expanded conflict with the Architect or investigating the Guiding Hand further.

It's not like they were ''ignoring'' the MTMTE cast, since Pipes, Ambulon, Trailcutter, Skids, Ravage, and even Rung are among the spirits welcoming Soundwave, and Rung died ''after'' Ten and Nightbeat. You also can't argue Nightbeat isn't there because of his former connection to the Dead Universe, since Kup is there and both he and Nightbeat were "stabilized" by Brainstorm after the events of ''Dark Cybertron'', and while Hardhead may not be there, his case is a bit more excusable by virtue of being ''consumed'' by the Dead Universe unlike them. Not even timing works, since the issues Ten and Nightbeat died in came out almost ''half a year'' before the pages of ''Unicron''. So... where are they?
\\
\\
It's possible, if not ''likely'', that the reason Ten and Nightbeat aren't there is because while their ''bodies'' died, their ''Sparks'' didn't. Their Sparks were never extinguished, but instead began to float adrift throughout space after their bodies died due to the unique nature's behind their existence:
* Ten is a Legislator ''with'' a Spark despite Tyrest designing them to be Sparkless drones, having constructed them from the bodies of Circle of Light members. While it's unknown ''where'' Ten got his Spark from, it's entirely possible his Spark wasn't ''created'' in his body, but simply took residence in a random Legislator, which is how that Legislator became sapient and came to be "Ten".
* Nightbeat is someone who survived the Dead Universe and was stabilized by Brainstorm, and considering it's ''Brainstorm'' who did it, it wouldn't be surprising if Nightbeat's Spark could survive outside his body after his tinkering.
It's more than likely that, before ExecutiveMeddling required Roberts compress various ideas he had and rush the series to a conclusion, he would have had the crew of the Lost Light come across Ten and Nightbeat's sparks and brought them BackFromTheDead. What evidence is there? James Robert's most well known foray into ''Transformers'', ''Fanfic/{{Eugenesis}}''.

** The Nudge Gun has been shown to only alter memories, not personalities. Skids used it on himself too and his personality remained the same, with no indication he was any different as shown via the flashbacks at Grindcore. It's more likely that, as Froid theorized, Getaway suffers from "Primus Apotheosis", and the more he saw the incompetence of Rodimus and felt that Megatron was a KarmaHoudini, he succumbed to his own case of ProtagonistCenteredMorality, thinking that he was doing [[IDidWhatIHadToDo what he had to do]] to reach Cybertopia, but SlowlySlippingIntoEvil. Only when he got there and learned it was AllForNothing did he succumb to flat out SanitySlippage. After all, despite having the Protectobots gunned down and having all the excuse to offline them, they ''did'' survive, implying he had them saved, yet at the same time he also killed Atomizer with his bare hands for helping First Aid, Riptide, and Thunderclash escape, right after having had Atomizer kill Rook to dirty his hands. It's more likely that, as a result of "Primus Apotheosis", being an MTO and later being employed by Prowl causing him to see some messed up shit, PTSD from the Great War compounded by Megatron being made co-captain, and seeing himself as the only sane person on a ship filled with a bunch of crazies, that he just eventually had a psychotic break, something exploited by Froid and Sunder for their own end, and then just kept getting worse and worse till going full on batshit.

[[WMG:If the series ''ever'' gets an animated adaptation, the Scavengers will have their voices be homages to, if not the outright voices themselves of, ''Red Vs. Blue'']]
I ''can't'' be the only one who sees it right?! The Scavengers are a RagtagBunchOfMisfits comprised of the alleged "worst of the worst", get into a variety of wacky adventures, engage in ComedicSociopathy, and prove to be some of the ''best'' of their kind by the end of it all. Hell, even the personalities can be matched:
* A traumatized and jaded leader esq figure that is a FatherToHisMen and haunted by the deaths of his friends? Krok and Agent Washington.
* An IdiotSavant {{Cloudcuckoolander}} that acts like a child and has a knack for shooting shit at random? Spinister and Caboose.
* A LovableCoward that can be pretty strategic and rather affable but insecure? Fulcrum and Simmons.
* An perpetually cranky guy who'd rather be ''anywhere'' but here but deep down cares for the group in his own way? Crankcase and Church.
* A BigEater and TheMillstone who acts like a jerk but is very empathetic beneath it all? Misfire and Grif.
* A female from a more professional team that joins the group by chance and quickly finds herself acting more like their mother and pretending she doesn't enjoy being with "her" idiots? Nickel and Agent Carolina.
And considering ''Creator/RoosterTeeth'' has worked with Transformers before, and that many of the RVB actors have become individual contractors rather than remain at RT, particularly due to certain... ''issues'' behind the scenes, several of the cast members could easily take the roles, like Jen Brown (Carolina), Shannon [=McCormick=] (Wash), and Burnie Burns (Church). Joel Heyman (Caboose) ''did'' get [[TheOtherDarrin Darrin'd]] by Michael Malconian, so he could take a role, so that just leaves Gus Sorola (Simmons) and Geoff Ramsey (Grif), albeit they could be... ''problematic'' due to remaining with RT during their "issues".
\\
\\
So if we ''ever'' get an adaptation of MTMTE, or even just a spinoff series focusing on the Scavengers, it would be ''brilliant'' to have them be nods to one of the most famous internet series that has a similar cast of colorful misfits.
