Herc, Thor and immortal {{Physical God}}s in general certainly had to learn new languages as they were invented, and keep adjourning their syntax and vocabulary in order to communicate. But when you've been around long enough new languages will start to sound all the same, and then nothing's easier than to lag a few century behind in your speech mannerisms.
