It all makes sense when you look at Jenny and her behaviors. Her sisters were Nora’s first attempts at replacing her daughter, but she couldn’t get it right...until she made Jenny. XJ9’s personality is based on how her daughter acted like a teenager, and so is her appearance. To make this theory even more plausible, the Exo-Skin is what she might have looked like as a human. This would explain why it has red hair (Nora was a redhead when she was younger, as shown in “Puppet Bride”). Her daughter was probably named Jennifer (Jenny has been called “Jennifer” multiple times throughout the series) and Jenny is a common nickname for that name. If this theory was to be proven true, this would mean that this whole show is about a woman trying to replace her child with a new one, which is a TearJerker.
