But this isn't MHA's setting, this is RWBY's setting. The setting of RWBY is well established as featuring robotic prosthetic augmentation, at least in super-advanced Atlas. Ironwood in particular has half of his body replaced by cybernetics. Tensei as the current active member of Atlas's most famous Huntsman lineage wouldn't even need to wait in line to get his bottom half swapped out and regain most of his ability. So either that happens and Tensei returns to his career after a stay in the hospital, with Tenya ecstatic for his brother's recovery -- or to preserve the drama, the ultimate impact of his injuries will be written as worse than in MHA so that he isn't in a position to request augments in the first place.
