Not even {{Creator/Nintendo}} would be dumb enough to make the only ''Mario Kart'' on their new system a crappy port of a game that everyone's already played years prior, and which spits in the face of anyone who did so. ''Deluxe'' is merely intended as cheap filler, as a cheap time-consumer while Nintendo works on the actual Switch game.
* Can't find the source at the moment, but essentially confirmed in an interview with the game's director. This "crappy" port exists to not only help fill out the Switch's first year of releases, but also to serve as a demonstration of the console's out-of-the-box local multiplayer. It also makes sense for Nintendo to re-release one of the Wii U's {{Killer App}}s on a system where more people can play it (since the Wii U didn't do so well in sales and all).

Collecting Toys-to-Life figures like VideoGame/{{Skylanders}}, VideoGame/DisneyInfinity and a soon-to-be-announced VideoGame/LegoDimensions obviously did not help, especially since the latter can tap into their powers themselves. As a last resort, the hands [[HumanityEnsues turned a few pokemon into human beings]] [[LetsPlay/TwitchPlaysPokemon for a unique swarm of Unown to control]] with the goal of shifting the Pokemon they catch in the same way by becoming Pokemon Champions. Although The Nine Vessels and their companions were brave heroes in and of themselves, the cause of their existance ultimately proved to be the last straw. The Core emmitted a Jetlike Swarm which melded itself over the core to create Master Shadow, Master Edges, Master Beast, Master Giant and over a month later in the Wii U version: Master Fortress! Needless to say, the hands were afraid at first, but in time, they worked around this problem and intend to use this swarm to their advantage. [[Toys/{{Amiibo}} The Hands have even made peace with the Toys-to-Life genre]] and [[DownloadableContent loosened up the boundaries of their segregation of realms.]]
