Aside from the fact that it's a spooky mansion full of monsters with a secret high-tech lab underneath, it's kind of obvious that Grey Lord's Mansion takes a lot of cues from the iconic Spencer Mansion from the first Resident Evil game. The front hall and the dining room in particular are eerily similar both in their appearance and their position in the mansion itself.
It's likely Grey Lord's Mansion was derived from data found in Capcom's databases with Bakemon being stand-ins for the zombies and Skullgreymon being the stand-in for the Tyrant.
