We still technically hear the full song, just that it’s been buried underneath the epilogue. This results in the narration drowning out Zoe’s voice and songwriting. As the song’s writing development played a major role in the human B-plot, this is baffling.
Then I remembered the DVD release had been a Dolby 5.1 mix. What if the audio mixer had also been tech-savvy like the cockatoo from the movie, and hid the song in the one of the channels for other 5.1 audio channel splitters to find?
