* LagCancel: The Heat Dash allows the player to cancel the recovery animation of their Heat Engager (such as Paul's lauded Phoenix Smasher, aka Deathfist) - be it on hit to launch the opponent into a combo, or on block to press your offense against the opponent.

Added DiffLines:

* SuperMode: For the first time in the series, there's the Heat System. While active, the player is heavily incentivized to go on the offensive, gaining properties that ranged from being able to perform Guard Breaks with certain attacks to performing Heat Smashes, a powerful blow that serves as the spiritual successor to the Rage Drives from ''7''.
* TurnsRed: Just like in ''Tekken 7'', when your health is at 20% or lower, your character will enter Rage Mode, wherein they gain increased damage and can perform Rage Arts, which also return from ''7'' and now share the same command across the cast[[note]] Being either down/foward plus both punches (df+1+2 in Tekken notation) or the Right Trigger - [=R2=]/RT. [[/note]] much like Climax Super Special Moves in ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFightersXV''.

** The gameplay trailer shows a fight between Kazuya and Jin, taking place near the very same volcano where Kazuya killed Heihachi in ''7'' (the Brimstone & Fire stage from that game). The difference this time is that rather than the volcano being active, symbolizing Kazuya's burning hatred for Heihachi, it is now dormant and raining with a heavy thunderstorm in the background as well as gigantic hurricanes that eerily reflect the silhouettes of Kazuya and Jin's Devil forms, symbolizing that this place shall potentially be the final resting place of the Mishima bloodline.
