The relaunch has proven to be successful, spawning countless other Tamagotchi-related material. Two anime movies (one got dubbed), two anime series (a series of shorts, and a half-hour anime series, which is currently running; both have been dubbed at one point), music, a line of NintendoDS games, and even two department stores in Japan. In its home country, Tamagotchi [[CashCowFranchise enjoys success to this day.]] In other parts of the world, however, the franchise has lost its popularity, [[DeaderThanDisco slinking back down to post-1998 levels]]. Bandai attempted to revive the franchise worldwide by releasing it free for Android and [=iOS=] devices (in the form of the app "Tamagotchi L.i.f.e.", now discontinued) before launching a new toy line, ''Tamagotchi Friends''.

* TheBoardGame: Cardinal released one in 1997. The game involves caring for your Tamagotchi, like the pets.
** Pressman released another Tamagotchi board game in 2007. Pressman's game does share some features from the Cardinal game, while adding an electronic pet in the center of the board.

* AmericanKirbyIsHardcore: For the English dub of ''Let's Go! Tamagotchi'', averted in episode 5 and done straight in episode 12.

* ExcitedShowTitle: Used from 2008 to ''2015''.

** In a few episodes of ''Let's Go! Tamagotchi'', certain scenes are drawn in a more detailed fashion.

** CreepyCrossdresser: Himespetchi's crush on Mametchi reaches the point where she crossdresses as him. While it's unsettling to everyone else, she's not being outright malicious. Oyajitchi even replicates this, but he subverts this trope as he and Mametchi are both male.

* HiccupHijinks: ''Hic! The Hiccups Will Not Stop'' focuses on Memetchi's bad case of this. They end up [[spoiler:holding hands around a glass drink (without anything in it) and doing a short chant.]]

* ArtEvolution: In Japan, the artwork used to be cruder and had black outlines. Beginning in 2004, the artwork looked better, but had blue outlines.
** In the USA, the artwork looked even cruder than the original Japanese artwork, looking like it was colored in by a preschooler. In 2004, they later received the 2004 Japanese style, but later switched to the anime designs with the ''Tamagotchi Friends''.

** ''Tamagotchi! Big Operation Secret Delivery'' will deviate from the TV anime's art style while retaining the usual Oriental Lights and Magic animation style - specifically, the characters [[http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/tamagotchi/images/e/e5/Tamagotchi_short_film.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20161106015351 look shinier.]]

** There's an episode in the English dub where Mametchi says that a couple made by two girls would be weird. That's right, Bandai managed to sneak a reference to ''homosexuality'' into a Tamagotchi episode.
