** As it turns out, blaster fire for virtually all weapons has a degree of randomness (a design choice to duplicate how blaster fire went all over the place in the movies). This means that even if you have a clear shot at an enemy, there's a good chance the shot will go awry.

Anti-vehicle weapons also work on turrets (like on Hoth) and can attack fighters (which the Rebels are in no short supply). Endor is actually the only place they ARE virtually useless to the Imperials.

* UselessUsefulSpell: Imperials can use the anti-vehicle power up. The Rebels don't have vehicles (other than on Endor, but those Speeder Bikes are a massive ScrappyMechanic).

Moving to YMMV.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The loss of a single player campaign (the 501st Campaign from Battlefront II) and various modes like Galactic Conquest or Quick Action in favour of an increased focus on the multiplayer didn't go down well with some fans.

Added DiffLines:

* CharacterCustomization: One of the most derided aspects of the game was the customization system. Being able to customize your gear seemed like a good idea, the fact that customizing your character's appearance basically boiled down to "a new head/ hairstyle" disappointed a lot of people. This is especially true in the case of the Stormtroopers, who in lore are depicted as never taking off their helmets when out in the field.

Added DiffLines:

* HelmetsAreHardlyHeroic: When customising characters, you basically replace the heads. This is especially jarring with the Stormtroopers, whose alternate heads are all unmasked (save for the Scout Trooper and Shadow Trooper).

* BrokenBase: hoo boy. There are those who accept Battlefront for what it is- namely, an online-focused shooter with emphasis on graphics and ease of use over a high degree of depth. And there are those who are outraged that a predominantly single-player experience has been hijacked to cash in on the name "Battlefront", with EA's other tricks showing to boot- namely, an expensive season pass and heavy focus on downloadable content. And this is without getting into the whole "Nerf grenades!" "No way, I can't get kills otherwise!" crowd. And that doesn't even touch the "Play the objective" versus "I want a high kill / death ratio" groups.

Star Wars Battlefront is an action first- and third-person shooter video game based on the Franchise/StarWars franchise. The third major release in the VideoGame/StarWarsBattlefront series, it is being developed by EA DICE and will be published by Creator/ElectronicArts. Despite this, it is not considered a sequel to the previous games, but rather a reboot. It is released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in November 2015.

!!Tropes
* BottomlessMagazines: Your weapons will overheat if fired too much, but there's no limit on magazine capacity. Grenades and other secondary gear recharge over time rather than needing to be reloaded or using ammunition.
* CanonDiscontinuity: Due to the Legends clause taking effect, anything introduced in (or repurposed for) the [=LucasArts=] games is no longer canon unless it is brought up in a new source.
* CharacterClassSystem: Averted for the first time in the series. "Hands" and "Star Cards" allow you to customize your character's gear, rather than using the preconstructed templates of the original duology.
* ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy: Exactly as seen in the movies, if this clip is anything to go on.
** Seeing as players control the stormtroopers, whether this is invoked or inverted is pretty much up to you.
* NumberedSequel: Averted. This makes sense, given the SequelGap (a full ten years) and the whole Legends edict basically making the first two games non-canon.
* OrbitalBombardment: A power available to the AT-AT. Also a powerup that can be collected on the field.
* PowerUp: Collecting items in the field gives you temporary access to new gear. These include shield generators, the ability to drop an orbital bombardment, and being able to pilot a vehicle or control a hero.
* PreOrderBonus: Pre-orders come with the Battle of Jakku a week before the Jakku maps go public.
* SceneryPorn: Endor and Hoth look stunning in the trailer. Smoke clouds, distant space battles and all sorts of other environmental effects add detail to the in-game maps.
