''Sicari'' is a series of ''VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld'' ROM hacks starring the titular child assassin and her robot sidekick K-16. Long ago, there was a war between the various gods of creation, which ultimately ended with them sealing themselves away from the mortal plane, leaving only temples behind. But the Sanguis vampire family, who survived the war, are able to bring unseal [[BigBad Niscura]], Goddess of Shadow and Dimensions, who begins her plan to merge the two dimensions together.

Added DiffLines:

* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: Two in ''Remastered'':
** In certain levels, you will play as Anna, a friend of Sicari and K-16. She plays the same as Sicari except she cannot swim, so touching water acts like touching lava and will burn her.
** The Bonus World switches control to [[spoiler:Gracie and the mysterious Eclipse of the Lunar Cult]]. They too play the same as Sicari.
* BigBad:
** In the original game and ''Remastered'' version, Niscura is the Goddess of Shadow and Dimensions who plans to merge her world of Demonia with Sicari's dimension and rule over both.
** ''K-16: Story of Steel'': [[DragonAscendant Scarlet]] is the employer of Team Supernova who has them create a black hole to destroy humanity to [[AvengingTheVillain avenge her brother Crimson]].
* BrutalBonusLevel: ''Sicari Remastered'' has the Bonus World and Void World, a collection of bonus levels available after beating the main game which up the difficulty.
* KillItWithWater: Anna cannot swim at all, and touching water is insta-death akin to touching lava.

Sicari, an 11-year-old assassin who lost her parents as a baby and was raised to be a killer, is called upon to stop Niscura and her five minions. Along with K-19, she will have to travel the lands to save her world.

The original hack can be downloaded [[https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=5950 here]], and a Remastered version with updated graphics and altered level designs can be found [[https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=25665 here]].

It was later followed up by [[https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=10495 K-16 - Story of Steel]], in which [[DragonAscendant Scarlet]], enraged by losing her beloved brother Crimson to Sicari, hires Team Supernova to create a black hole that will destroy humanity. Because Sicari cannot breathe in space, it is up to K-16 to stop her.

!!This hack contains examples of:
* ADayInTheLimelight: K-16, the robot sidekick of Sicari, becomes the protagonist of ''K-16 - Story of Steel''.
* TheGreatOffscreenWar: There was a war between the gods of creation in the past, but it is only mentioned in the synopsis of the Remastered version.
* ShoutOut: The Remastered version of Niscura's castle is a homage to [[Franchise/MegaMan Wily's Fortresses]], from the intro showing the ominous castle in the background to it being made of four stages, with even a BossRush against the game's bosses as is typical for Mega Man games.
