* CripplingOverspecialization: Genzoh has the greatest strength against enemies, and can even destroy Satan with just a couple hits. He's the best one at hovering. In those two aspects, the other characters do not even get near. But he's slow to a fault, can hardly jump at all, and takes forever to take down a door.

* DubNameChange: All of the characters had different names in the Japanese version.
** Tommy was originally called Naoki.
** Linda was originally called Akiko.
** Poward was originally called Bunta.
** Steve was originally called Makoto.
** Richard was originally called Genzoh.

* FragileSpeedster: Makoto is fast, but so fast that it becomes a flaw rather than a benefit, as he can easily run into enemies. Having weak attack, low hovering and a big size does not help.

* JackOfAllStats: Naoki and Akiko are the best balanced espers and the best suited for the game at large, with the other 3 better suited for specific situations. Compared to each other, Akiko has better hovering, but lower stats at everything else.
* MightyGlacier: Bunta can take down doors in seconds and has huge strength against enemies. But he's slow, and has the hovering capabilities of a sack of potatoes.

* InvincibilityPowerUp: If you manage to defeat Zara the witch, you can ride her broom for a short while. Enemies are stopped, die with a touch and can't kill you or respawn, the timer is stopped, platforms are stopped, fires are harmless, doors fall with a touch, etc. The only exception is that Satan can still fire his fireballs, and they can still kill. This includes the couple of seconds when Zara is falling.

* HundredPercentCompletion: You get a bonus if you collected all the food sets on the stage. They become gold bonus for each set that you get without interrupting the sequence by getting others in between.
* GoddamnedBats: The minions of the big enemies. Each big enemy can produce several and they move in tricky patterns.
* FragileSpeedster: Makoto is fast, but so fast that it becomes a flaw rather than a benefit, as he can easily run into enemies. Having weak attack, low hovering and a big size does not help.
* HaveANiceDaySmile: The default content of boxes, when there is no user-selected bonus or hidden special bonus in it.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Satan, the boss of the game, does not do anything but sit on his throne at the last section of the level's maze. And even there, he just throws some fireballs every now and then.
* PhoneBoothChangingRoom: There are phone booths around the maze, and can be used to change between espers during gameplay. Beware, the esper is not safe from enemies while inside.
* TimedMission: You have a limited time to complete the mission. You may gain 30 seconds by crossing "On" gates, and 40 seconds in some boxes. Time may be halted while using the "Stop" effect and while in the broom.
