* TheMall: The second level in the second game takes place at the Mall of America, and involves blowing up its central core in order to [[KeystoneArmy destroy every mall in the country]] and liberate America from yuppie consumerism.

* NewAgeRetroHippie: Given a TakeThat in the second game. The player character gives a speech to a pair of these, slamming them for using the imagery of the [[TheSixties '60s counterculture]] as an excuse to smoke weed, sell stuff and not shower.

* HummerDinger: The second game featured a boss fight against Creator/TimAllen driving one of these, complete with a [[WeaponizedCar mounted machine gun]] and an {{Eagleland}} Type 2 rant from Allen about how his lifestyle is worth more than the environment.

* BlackComedyRape: Inflicted on Music/TheGetUpKids by [[Music/{{Aerosmith}} Steven Tyler]] in the first game, and on Music/SavesTheDay by Music/EnriqueIglesias and on Ian [=MacKaye=] by the male cast members of ''Series/{{Friends}}'' in the second.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Playing these games is like stepping back in time to 2002-04, what with all the pop culture references, '80s kid show nostalgia, hatred of UsefulNotes/GeorgeWBush, Music/{{emo}} treading the line between "underground" and "mainstream", and {{MTV}} [[NetworkDecay still, at the very least, basing its reputation around music videos]].
