** In ''Afterlife'' a new NPC named Nier appears in Journey's End. * DarkIsNotEvil: Death/Crow fits this to a T. While he is kind of a dick, he is ultimately on Sorun's side to the very end; and assures that death is only necessary for life to move on.

* HiddenDepths: Death while being a snarky {{jerkass}} at first apparently has a genuine passion for cooking. And aswe learn of how he and other beings could have chosen any other way to use their limited interaction in the corporeal realm, it becomes more touching that he is willing to humble himself to serve others even if it's in a resturaunt for tiny lizard people.

** In ''Afterlife'': Thalamus' acolyte [[spoiler: Ash]] just wants to return to a world where he, his brother, and mother are together as a loving family again; even if its in a false reality crafted by the former.
