* TragicBigot: Caven becomes resentful towards all Xmeilians after Cael [[spoiler:destroys Suna Town and kills his biological mother]], to the point where he attacks Prince Xent even though the party needs to recruit him to get into Xmeil's lab. Xent repeatedly has to explain that Xmeil's citizens are also victims of Lord Gwir's megalomania and that he and his brothers are considered nothing more than sacrificial pawns for his father's ambitions. In the epilogue, Caven overcomes his prejudices and even ends up marrying an Xmeilian woman.

** Silver is a MadScientist who relies solely on mutants to enforce her will. When the party defeats her mutants and corners her, she retreats and [[KarmaHoudini is never seen again]].

* WarriorPrince: Prince Caven is a swordsman who goes off on an adventure in order to become worthy of being a king someday. However, [[spoiler:he later learns that he and Skye were switched from birth, so he gives up his inheritance and serves as Skye's champion instead, only for Skye to give the throne back to him in old age]].
* YouKilledMyFather: Cael wipes [[spoiler:Suna Town off the map, killing Skye's mother Esthelle in the process. When it turns out Caven and Skye were switched at birth and that Esthelle is actually Caven's biological mother, Caven angsts over failing to protect Esthelle more than he did already]].
