* ShoutOut: The game starts off spoofing the ''Franchise/StarWars'' opening:
-->''Not so long ago, in a galaxy not so far away, in a solar system that was... well... not so spectacular (it only had one planet), there lived an alien race known as the Quadraticans.''

* NamedAfterTheirPlanet: The Quadraticans live on the planet Quadratica. Possibly inverted, since the wording in the opening implies that it was actually the planet that was named after its inhabitants rather than vice versa.

''Alge-Blaster 3'' is an EdutainmentGame in the ''[[VideoGame/BlasterSeries Blaster]]'' series. As the title might suggest, it teaches algebra.

This is the third version of ''Alge-Blaster'', hence the "3" in the name. However, much like with ''VideoGame/MathBlasterInSearchOfSpot'', it's the first version to feature a storyline. Said storyline is about the friendly planet Quadratica getting invaded by the belligerent Red Nasties.

In 1997, this game was remade as ''Math Blaster: Algebra''.

* BigRedDevil: The Red Nasties, though they aren't particularly big.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: The Red Nasties have bodies like this.
* SuddenlyVoiced: The leader of the Quadraticans is voiced in a non-interactive promotional demo.
