* '''Southwestern Wisconsin''', aka The Driftless Area (called that because the Ice Age glaciers bypassed it). is the lower corner of the state, bounded by Iowa and Minnesota on the west and Illinois on the south (basically anything in the 608 area code that's not Madison, Janesville or La Crosse). One of the first areas of the state populated due to the vast lead deposits in the area, it's very hilly and very rural, with no major cities beyond Platteville and Dodgeville. Mainly agricultural, although Platteville has a UW campus, and Dodgeville has Lands' End, a major clothing retailer, and not much else.

* ''Literature/TheWestingGame'' is definitely set in Wisconsin, probably in Milwaukee or perhaps its suburbs. Either way, Sunset Towers is on the Lake Michigan lakefront (a deliberate irony on Sam Westing's part--from Wisconsin, you see the sun''rise'' over the lake, not the sunset).
