* ''Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything with Low-Level Spells'' stars Mimori Touka, who is transported to an RPGMechanicsVerse alongside his classmates. Unlike his classmates, his stats cap out at E-rank, and he can only learn spells that cause StatusEffects. clarified exactly how badass the Worm example is.

* The protagonist of ''Literature/{{Worm}}'' is a skinny teenage girl whose only power is the [[WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway ability to control bugs]]. This is in a world where game-breaking superpowers are common. Do not underestimate her. A RunningGag in the comments section is that pretty much everyone's reactions to Skitter is "Meh, I could take her." Eventually, the PRT learns not to do this: they specifically say, "Look, take our rankings for her, and treat her as though she were two rankings higher ''across the board''." They decide to treat her as though she were a [[TheBrute Brute]], a [[SwissArmyHero Breaker]], and ''especially'' a [[ComboPlatterPowers Trump]] of some degree.

** Her first fight? She took on one of the most powerful villains in the city, and most of his gang, and put up a better fight than some whole superhero teams had in the past.
** Later, she takes on a member of the Slaughterhouse 9, an organization so feared that their presence automatically triggers an EnemyMine situation for every hero and villain in the city. She wins.
** Then there's the fight against Echidna, a parahuman suspected to be a [[spoiler: nascent Endbringer due to her sheer power, who manages to take down two of the most powerful heroes alive and begin creating evil clones of them]]. Taylor singlehandedly turns the tide of the battle, damaging Echidna more than almost anyone else has at no small risk to herself and reviving everyone's morale.

** Somewhat subverted in the final arc, as nobody is underestimating her anymore. Not that it matters.
