He is working on a short film called ''Thank God for Napalm.'' It's loosely based on real events in the winter of [[TheSeventies 1973]], and follows two Pasadena police detectives investigating a bunch of fires that were started by a fourteen-year-old girl. [[BlackComedy It's a comedy.]] which uses the following tropes:

*AuthorAppeal: Julia was a real-life person...who just happened to live in the writer's home, albeit decades earlier. And she was never caught.
*CatholicSchoolGirlsRule: Beautifully averted.
*CowboyCop: ''Thank God for Napalm'' is both a satire of actual events, and a tribute to the Cowboy Cop genre of the 1960s and 70s.
*DefectiveDetective: Michael Strummer.
*NothingButHits: Averted. The music heard would have been popular at the time, but you'd be hard-pressed to hear them now.
*PaleSkinnedBrunette: Julia. And several other characters in the series. See AuthorAppeal.
*PyroManiac: [[spoiler:Julia]].
*ShoutOut: The unicorn on Strummer's desk is a shout out to BladeRunner, which of course hadn't yet come out when the film is set. It's meant to be a reflection of Gant's line "[[spoiler:Of course she won't live! But who does?]]" Especially creepy if you know that the film is set in 1973, and [[spoiler:The real Julia Clement committed suicide in 1976]].
