Over the years I've had a lot of people attempt to convince me that the above traditional gender stereotype is not a stereotype but actually the platinum plated TRUTHS OF ALL THAT BE TRUTH!
Every one of their arguments has been unconvincing to say the least and leaves me wondering what deep set psychological mechanism is at work that motivates them to believe something illogical and easily refuted. Feel free to attempt to be the first gender traditionalist to convince me that you're right and, as a woman, I'm an eternal DistressedDamsel in Distressed Distressy-stress via PM. BTW, you won't.
Some groups of gender conservatives(who shall not be specifically named) who embrace a woman!victim/man!aggressor dichotomy consider themselves to be somehow progressive. It's, of course, purely a co-incidence that their theories about society and social structure reinforce archaic stereotypes about gender.
