30something computer geek from England, currently living in Northampton. No, he has never met Alan Moore (though apparently most of the staff of the local branch of Waterstones ''have'') or any member of Bauhaus (I'm pretty sure they moved out decades ago).

Likes 1980s [=CRPGs=] (''Shard of Spring'' and ''Demon's Winter'', ''Wizard's Crown'' and ''Eternal Dagger'', the ''Phantasie'' trilogy, ''{{Wasteland}}'', ''Sentinel Worlds I: Future Magic'', ''The Bard's Tale'' trilogy, ''[[Game/DungeonMaster Dungeon Master]]'', ''Deathlord'', ''{{Ultima}}'' up to about {{Ultima VI}}, ...), and is bitterly disappointed with the disappearance of cipher-esque protagonists and high-customization party composition from the genre, even though he adores the levels of characterization in works like ''MassEffect''.

Thinks ''{{Doom}}'' has seldom been bettered in the FPS genre, and in particular that it is one of the few [=FPSes=] worth playing through more than twice per difficulty level on its own merits. ''DoomTheRoguelike'' is pretty awesome, too.

Has ridiculously broad musical tastes, and holds in contempt anyone who claims either that music is automatically good because they like it, or automatically bad because they don't.

Tends to hate unskippable cutscenes.

Used to play [=MMOs=], but has now stopped because they do not constitute "time well wasted".

Prefers subtitled anime to dubbed anime, partly because he finds high-pitched shrieking in Japanese a lot more tolerable than high-pitched shrieking in American-accented English.

----

Provides examples of:

* BiTheWay (round about Kinsey 2)
* SesquipedalianLoquacity - mmmmmm delicious words omnomnom
* SophisticatedAsHell - prone to inserting gratuitous and elaborate profanity into the comments of his code.

On the occasions he tries to write fiction, he tends to use the following tropes a lot:

* ColdFlames - particularly fond of using black ColdFlames as a [[PowerGlows Power Glow]] for the use of evil magic.
* GoodIsNotNice
* HellFire
* IHaveYouNowMyPretty
* MindManipulation
* NaughtyTentacles
* OurVampiresAreDifferent
* PowerGlows

assisting a service that it is one of the few [=FPSes=] worth playing through more than twice per difficulty level relies on censorious advertising providers to pay for its own merits. ''DoomTheRoguelike'' is pretty awesome, too.
